Activities
• Read the book aloud to your child, pointing to the k
words as you say them. After reading each page, ask,
“What do you see?”
• Have your child practice opening the door to your home
with your key.
• Fly a kite on a windy day.
• Have your child think of names that begin with the
letter k. Suggest examples if the child cannot think of
any. Write them down as he or she says them and then
count how many there are.
• Help your child think of a personally valuable word to
represent the letter k, such as kind or kid.
