Topic: Writing a Fictional Summary

How will you I will start the lesson by revisiting prior knowledge to the students. Once
introduce your the class understands what I will be teaching, I will play a video about
lesson? strategies for the students. I will then answer any questions and then
proceed to the direct teaching.
What is your For my direct teaching delivery method, I will read a quick short story to
instructional delivery the students and use the video as steps to complete the summary and
method? have the students follow along with me.
Guided Practice For guided practice, the students will finish the rest of the story
following the same format that I showed them earlier. The students will
be allowed to ask questions as needed to complete the story.
Individual Practice After we wrap up the guided practice, and questions get answered, the
students will work on a story completely by themselves. They will read
the story and complete the summary worksheet on their own.
Closure The class will discuss what they have learned, and I will revisit the
lesson goal.

Assessment: Students will write a summary based off the story they read, using their
graphic organizer.
