Preparations for Installation

First all backup all router configurations on Laptop through FTP . Step 1 Obtain the patch file matched with the version from Huawei. Step 2 Run the display version command on the router to confirm whether the version running on the device is V300R006.

Step 3 Ensure that the file name of the patch to be uploaded does not exist on the router. After that, run the binary command to upload NE40E80EV300R006C01SPC315.CC to the directory cfcard:/ of the router through FTP in binary format through the ftp>binary command. Step 4 If there is a standby MPU, copy the patch file to it by the command as follows:
<Quidway> copy NE40E80EV300R006C01SPC315.CC slave#cfcard:/

Step 5 Before installing the new cold patch, please check whether there is any cold patch is already installed on the router. If so, uninstall the installed cold patch. Run the display packet-compatible command to check whether the same old patch is already installed.

Run the following commands to uninstall the installed cold patch.

Step 6 Before installing NE40E&80E V300R006C01SPC315, check whether the matching hot patch has been installed. If not, install the hot patch first.

NE40E&80E V300R006C01SPC315 can take effect only after NE40E&80E V300R006C01SPH015 or a hot patch of a later version is installed. To upgrade NE40E&80E V300R006C01SPC315, you need to upgrade the hot patch first. For detailed procedures of installing the hot patch, refer to the corresponding patch release notes. If a hot patch earlier than NE40E&80E V300R006C01SPH015 has been installed, delete the hot patch, and then install the hot patch matching NE40E&80E V300R006C01SPC315. ----End
