SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ANALOGY

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the discussion the students are expected to:

a. Identify the use of analogy,

b. Determine the common types of analogy and;

c. Explain the importance of analogy.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Analogy

Reference: English 7 Quarter 1- Module 1 Analogy Pp. 10-17

Materials: PowerPoint, video clip, Google form, and google classroom.

Methodology: 4A's strategy

Values integration: cooperation, activeness, focus, and appreciation.

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preliminary Activity

Prayer

Greet the student and introduce myself to them.

Checking of attendance of the student.

Checking of rules.

Review of the past lesson on a certain topic.

( The teacher will call one student to recap the past lesson.)

B. Motivation

Introduce the game which is called " Guess the meaning."

Let the students guess the meaning.

Provide a video clip to see if their answers were correct.

C. Discussion

( The teacher will start to introduce the new topic which is an analogy and while discussing
they're will be a graded recitation where students identify what is the analogy or types of
analogy on the given examples.)

D. Activity

The students will be grouped into two.

Introduce the game which is called "Race Game."

Let the students tell what is the analogy in the given pictures.

E. Analysis

The teacher will ask questions about their experience in the activity.

What did you observe about the activity?

How would you determine the answers immediately?

F. Abstraction

(The teacher will ask at least one of the students to give the summary of the discussion and after
that, the teacher will explain clearly the topic.)

G. Application

Through the use of the Google form gives a 5 items quiz for the students and they will answer it
individually.

H. Generalization

After the discussion, the teacher will ask the students about the importance of analogy.

IV. EVALUATION

Through google form, the student will have to answer the given question individually.

6-10 Enumeration

(Essay type)

11-15 What is the importance of analogy?

V. ASSIGNMENT

Give your own 10 examples of analogy to be submitted to the google classroom.
