H A B I T U D E S : Consist of HABITS and ATTITUDES

1. FIRST STEP : A COFFEE STEP

- First step of your career is not about talent, its about trust.
- Do the little thing, because those little step may get you exactly where you want
to go.
2. “THERMOMETER VS THERMOSTAT”
- Thermometer : alat yang hanya bisa mengukur suhu
Thermostat : alat yang bisa mengontrol suhu
- At the beginning of your career, you will be a thermometer (don’t make any
mistake, keep your nose clean, etc).
- But the longer you are on your career you have to change into a thermostat
(influence people, be a leader, make a difference, etc)
- Most people remain a thermometer for a lifetime of their career, but YOU WONT
!
3. KIND OF SUCCESSFUL HABITUDES
- River VS Floods :
 “The power of Focus and Clarity”: be focus on something that you really
good at and set goals to it.
 You can do anything, but you can’t do everything, so choose wisely.
- Chess VS Checkers :
 Mediocre leaders play checkers with their people, they treat them all alike and
get average performance
 Great leaders play chess in that relationships of their life, they connect with
others uniqueness of their personality and strength and those people flourish
- Crockpots VS Microwave :
 Don’t rush things
 Your career is probably going to move a little bit more like a crockpot than a
microwave. It’s a slow cook, but does taste better when it’s done
 We get moved up when it’s recognized we’ve got the gifts and the experience
that’s necessary.
4. HABITUDES AND LEADERSHIP
- There are 2 kinds of leaders, habitual leaders and situational leaders
80 – 85 % people are situational leader, they’re not an automatically great leaders
but when they’re in the right situation where it matches who they are (passion,
gifts, strength) in that 1 zone they’re gonna be a great and unique leader. So find
your SITUATION.
5. Habitudes for Mid-Career Professional
6. ADVICE IN TO STEP TO A CAREER
- Never underestimate the power of good attitude, good communication,
understanding, and empathizing.
- Those who survive learned to stop asking themselves “what do I expect of life?”
instead they started asking “what does life expect of me?”. Avoid the
Disillusioned, and be a very good adapted person.
- Puzzle Pieces an Box Top
 Have you ever tried to put one of those gigantics 2.000 pieces jigsaw puzzles
together without the box top? It’s impossible. So the most important things we
need to learn as we start our career is to FIND THE BIG PICTURE (what’s
the big picture here ?, how does my piece fit in?).
- Starving Baker
 The starving baker is the baker that spends so much time baking bread for
others he forgets to eat and starves himself. So the point is I need to lead
myself before I lead others, and I need to feed myself before I feed others.
 Number #1 rules is to always reinventing your personal growth and life-long
learning, so even on your 50s and 60s you’re still in the game.
