Guidelines in formulating Definition of Terms 1. Only terms, words and phrases which have special meaning in the study are defined. 2. Terms should be defined operationally, that is how they are used in the study. 3. The researcher may develop his own definition from the characteristic s of the term defined. 4. Definitions may be taken from encyclopedia, magazines, books, newspaper and other publications, the researcher must acknowledge his sources. 5. Definition should be as brief, clear and unequivocal. 6. Acronyms should always be spelled out fully especially if its not common known or used for first time. 7. Alphabetically arranged.
