REPORT ON PI DAY CELEBRATION

The Pi Day Celebration is organized by the PG & Research Department of Mathematics at


M.A.Ratchager Hall. The Mayor of the Cuddalore Corporation was the chief guest. The Program was
headed by Dr. J. Jon Arockiaraj, Vice Principal. The aim of the program is to give knowledge to the
students and develop their interest to research further other than they learned from books. Secondly, it
aimed to show the progress of the field of Mathematics. The Function started up with the Prayer Song
followed by Thamizhthai Vazhthu.

The Valuable Presence of Chief Patron Rev. Fr. G. Pater Rajendiram, Secretary along with the
Felicitation Members of the institution

 Dr. J. Jon Arockiaraj, Vice Principal
 Rev. Fr. Dr. S. Xavier, Controller of Examination
 Rev. Fr. Dr. A. Alex, Dean of Studies

The Addressal Speech was given by Dr. A. Venkatesan, Assistant Professor.


The Inaugural Speech was given by the Chief Patron Rev. Fr. G. Peter Rajendiram followed by the
Felicitation members speech about the importance of Pi in Mathematics and the Role played in daily
life.
The Chief Guest Introduction was delivered by Mrs. Savitha Mary, Assistant Professor.
There were events conducted like Maxurals, Exhibition, Seminars and Quiz. The School Students
Participated in several events with the help and guidance of their teachers. All items and models were
fascinating. Students from outside enjoyed the event most.
At the end of the ceremony, the Chief Guest Mrs. Sundari Raja, Mayor, Cuddalore Corporation and
Rev. Fr. G. Peter Rajendiram, Secretary distributed the Certificates to the winners along with the Cash
Award of Rs. 1000 for 1st Place and Cash Award of Rs. 500 for 2nd Place.

And the Overall was announced by Dr. J. Jon Arockiaraj, Vice Principal and Head of the Department
of Mathematics. The Overall Championship was handed over to Sacred Heart Convent Anglo Indian
Higher Secondary School, Villupuram with Cash Award of Rs. 2000.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. A. Rajesh, Assistant Professor.
