Jireh Mae N.

Lim

Good day! I am Jireh Mae N. Lim, God let me witness his love for 18 years, I was born
on August 20, 2003 and I live in Barangay Sta. Juliana Capas, Tarlac up to this day.
Currently, I'm taking Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English at Dominican
College of Tarlac. I have 5 siblings and my parents are Melody N. Lim and Eddie B. Lim.
Ever since, it is my aspiration to become an educator, someone said, being an educator
is the most noble profession because somehow, you are part of your student's
successes and there's a possibility that they won't forget you for the rest of their lives
or sometimes, they will remember you even just for a little while. Personally speaking,
being a teacher is not a work but rather it's a passion to touch your student's lives, to
motivate and inspire. At these trying times, it is hard to study with the educational
system we have today because of the pandemic, our financial status isn’t enough to
support me as a college student because I have other siblings who’s studying as well.
We are at the hem of the society who’s struggling to study through technological
means. My father lost his job when the pandemic begun, and indeed, the world won’t
stop for you because we need to keep moving forward and survive even, we haven’t
recovered yet from this crisis. And as a student, I don’t want to stop my studies
because I don’t want to miss this opportunity to change our life for the better. Every
single day as I wake up, I always pray that God will provide our basic necessities and
the materials I need for online classes. “I will graduate and take the board exam to
become a teacher” that’s my motivation every day to keep striving. I know it won’t be
easy most especially for a student like me, I have many shortcomings and I am not
privileged enough to study without worries nowadays but despite all of these, I’m still
holding to God’s promises, I believe He will use people to help and carry me throughout
my journey. These things won’t stop me from dreaming, it’s tiring to hear from other
people that a person like me doesn’t have a right to dream big because of the status we
have in the society because I am sure that by His guidance, we can and we will. Even
I’m at my lowest and darkest place, I believe I’m in His perfect place to meet His grace.
Have a blessed day!
