Execution of Order Allocation Run

Use
You can execute order allocation run (ARun) both in the background and online. For
more information about about executing ARun in the background, see Background
Processing (Batch ARUN) Background Processing of ARun.

An allocation type controls every allocation run. All the rules that influence the
allocation run are grouped in the allocation type. The individual rules (selection,
requirement check, grouping, sorting, allocation, release check, and log) are
individually defined in Customizing for the allocation run and entered in the
corresponding allocation type. Since you can define any number of allocation types,
you can map a wide variety of business processes in the system. For example, you
can create special allocation types with specific settings for certain customers. In this
way, you can make sure that those special requests can be mapped by the system
during the order processing.

Whenever you start an order allocation run, you can decide whether to run it in
normal, simulation, or preview mode.

In normal mode, the assignments between the requirement and stock are posted
and the order is updated. The stock is then assigned to this order and can be
delivered in the next step.

In simulation mode, processing is similar, but the system does not update orders and
the requirements are not assigned to a certain stock. You can use this mode to
simulate and test results.

In preview mode, the system makes a fictitious assignment of existing requirements

to (future and physical) stock. This mode is used to test possible future scenarios
and functions as an early warning system. These assignments are saved in a
separate database table. The actual requirements/stock situation is not updated.

You can display and edit the results of a saved allocation run using ARun
Workbench and log files. You can use log rules to check where the log files
(containing exceptions) for order allocation run (ARun) are saved in the database.
Process
1. Define an allocation type in Customizing under Logistics - General   SAP
Fashion Management   Order Allocation Run   Online ARun   Maintain
ARun Types.

2. Use the transaction ARUN to execute order allocation run (ARun).

Alternatively, on the SAP Easy Access screen for Retailing, choose SAP
Fashion Management   Order Allocation Run   Order Allocation Run
(Online).

3. Choose an allocation type to determine which rules are used for executing the
allocation

4. Enter a description for each allocation run. You can use it as search help
during later evaluations for the ARun Workbench or the log files.

5. Choose the mode you want to run the allocation.

6. Select the requirements to be used during order allocation run

7. You can choose to execute allocation run according to the rules that are
entered in the allocation type in Customizing (under Logistics -
General   SAP Fashion Management   Order Allocation Run   Online
ARun) or override the existing rules with new rules. You can do this using the
following buttons under Override ARun Type section:

 ARun Type: Click this button to override the predefined rules for an
ARun type. A dialog box with the existing rules that were defined in
Customizing for stock selection, requirement filter selection, allocation,
and release is displayed. You can maintain your own rules for on this
screen, and thus replacing the existing rules of the ARun type.

 Requirement Sorting: Click this button to override the predefined

requirement sorting rules with new rules. A dialog box with the
requirement sorting fields is displayed. Click the Fields button to add a
sorting field and Values button to include the available or new values of
the requirement sort field. Set the priority for the requirement sort field.
The new values for requirement sort fields will replace the existing field
values of requirement sorting rule.
 Stock Sorting: Click this button to override the predefined stock sorting
rules that were defined in the ARun type with the new rules. A dialog
box with the stock sorting fields is displayed. Click the Fields button to
add a stock sorting field and Values button to include the available
values of the sort field. Set the priority for the stock sorting field. The
new values for sort fields will replace the existing field values of stock
sorting rule.

Note
The override options are applicable for the current order allocation run
execution only. The changes done using the override options will not change
the rules that are maintained in Customizing.

8. Select the Selection List checkbox if you want to display the allocation

results list of the orders selected for an order allocation run.

9. Select the Allocation List checkbox if you want to display the allocation

results list.

10. Choose Execute to start order allocation run and save your order allocation
run.
