This goes to our first issue in music commercial
or Commercialization, kindly read please

Based on the definition itself, commercialization

helps artists to market their music to a wide (student answer may vary)
range of consumers, like now since the election
is near, various jingles of different candidates
that we hear and sometimes we become LSS
because of the nice beat. By any means, in any
way, just so they can market the song, it's either
on the TV show, brand of clothes, or in a
shampoo brand commercial.

But the how do you think commercialization

became an issue in music industry?

(student will give example)

Class what have you observed in the video?

Known all over the word ma’am

As you can see class also one of the issue is that
we have a habit of commercializing foreign artist
or music in a Filipino commercial instead of
using our very own Filipino Artist and music.
One Direction ma’am
Do you understand class?

Let’s proceed class, from the word Global What

comes to your mind when we say globalization? Globalization – is the process by which
businesses or other organizations
develop international influence or start
operating on an international scale.
Very Good class, can you give me a group or a
singer or songs that are known every country?

Very good class! Those are some of the Group

that became popular globally. Kindly read what
globalization is.

Ma’am it is a tool to share culture,

thoughts, and stories throughout the
world.

Thank you!
Class Globalization it is the word that they used
to describe the growing interdependence of the
world’s economies, cultures and populations,
brought about by cross boarder in goods,
services and also music.

Do you have any idea what is the role of music

in globalization?

They will just enjoy the foreign music

more.

Very Good! Remember class that music is a

powerful tool for globalization because, many
songs have the capability to help identify a
culture, as well as educate countries about other
culture. And also it provides new opportunities
for the pop music industry to expand the world
market and gain huge profits.

But class what do you think are the reasons why

Globalization becomes an issue in music when it
give us opportunity to expand and gain profits
from it?

That’s right! Class some of the poor/small

countries like Philippines left behind because of
continues development when it comes to
technology and we don’t have enough resources
for the aspiring artist, musicians and performers
and a lot of good producer

KPOP become so popular now that PPOP
became known and that some singers, artist and
performers here need to adapt to their kind of Work Exploitation and Labor Law

Class according to some published documents,

singers and songwriters frequently complain that
there is no law, no contract, and no average
wage in the music industry, and that labor
exploitation is the norm, particularly in Korea.

Here in the Philippines also have the same issue

that’s why some of the artist go abroad to pursue
their passion and to be able to have the pay that
they deserved.

Companies with the ability to produce music

tend to sit above the artists. Artists abandon their
efforts to advocate for their rights in favor of
focusing solely on their work not as their (student will answer)
passion.

Cultural Ethics – deals with the

feel about that issue?

As you can see class here in our country some

people thought that being a singer is easy and
they don’t even consider the feelings of that
person but did you know that in other country
they think highly of them being a singer,
performer and artist.
