Internship guidelines for (B.A., LL.B. /B.B.A., LL.B.)


Course Code: LL.B. 504 (Batch 2017-22)

1. Introduction
Objective of the Internship
The objective of the Internship is to help the students to develop ability to study the
courts’ / organizational functioning in, learn and apply concepts, tools and
techniques.
Time devotion to dissertation vis-a-vis internship (during 10th semester of B.A.,
LL.B., and B.B.A., LL.B., program).
The total duration of the internship shall be 12 weeks (3 months).
2. The students of the B.A., LL.B. / B.B.A., LL.B. program shall be required to submit
the “Internship Report” to DME Law School. The report should be duly typed and
duly signed by the intern and countersigned by the internship faculty supervisor
and organizational supervisor of the respective organization in which they have
undergone internship for a period of 12 weeks (3 months).
3. The organization for Internship of the student shall be duly approved by the TPO
Law, DME. The faculty supervisor for internship will be same as designated for
supervising the dissertation.

4. For internship, the organization shall be of repute like an Advocate or private or


public limited company, corporation or a government department, NGO, etc.
5. Each student is required to ensure that the organization where he is interning has
sent a communication via email at internshipdissertation2022@dme.ac.in (with cc
to the respective supervisor) from the organization’s official id specifying the
following latest by 28th Feb 2022.
(a) Name of student
(b) Batch & Enrollment number
(c) Name & address of the organization.
(d) Date of commencement & completion of the Internship.
(e) Contact details of the staff / management/organizational supervisor to
whom the intern is reporting (mobile number & official mail id)
(f) Title of the project.
N.B.-1: In the absence of the aforesaid communication by email, it shall be
presumed that the student is not undergoing any internship.
N.B.-2: No marks shall be awarded to a student in the absence of the
aforesaid email to be received from the organization’s email id to
internshipdissertation2022@dme.ac.in

6. The PPT presentation [interim] will be done in the second week of April according
to the schedule to be notified by the HoA, DME School of Law. It shall be binding
on the students to incorporate the modifications and the suggestions, if any,
suggested by the supervisor.

7. This interim presentation & report evaluation will carry a maximum of 10 marks. No
marks shall be awarded in the absence of email to be received from the organization
where the student is interning to DME at internshiplaw@dme.ac.in.

8. Students shall be required to attach to the internship report, a copy of the certificate
of internship from the concerned organization at the end of third month of
their internship even if their internship continues beyond three months.
Students are advised not to join any organization who is not ready to issue
certificate of internship at the completion of third month on the ground that
internship is to continue beyond the period of three months. Students are advised to
make it clear before joining their internship in any organization.

9. A hard copy of the Internship Report and Daily Diary shall be submitted to the
Internship faculty Supervisor latest by April 24th, 2022 and a PPT presentation
must be given for the same.

10. The Internship faculty Supervisor shall forward the Internship Reports to the
Internship Dissertation Committee, DME School of Law latest by April 30th,
2022 along with a summary sheet (excel sheet comprising title of the project, name
of the organization; student name & enrollment number).
11. The Internship Report should be submitted with standard title cover as specified in
Annexure II, along with the certificate duly signed on the Organization’s letterhead
that must specify the period for which the student has undergone Internship in that
organization along with the Internship Schedule and the assessment of the overall
performance of student. The title of the project must be clearly stated on the
letterhead.
12. Structure of the Final Internship Report:
The length of the Internship Report may be about 20-30 pages typed infont size 12,
font type ‘Times New Roman’, 1.5-spacing not exceeding 10,000 words (excluding
appendices). However, 10% variation on either side is permissible.
13. The Internship report shall also be accompanied by the Daily Diary containing
the Organizational Profile.
14. Contents of the Internship Report.
(a) The title page showing the following
• “INTERNSHIP REPORT”
• Title
• Name of the organization of Internship

• Name of the candidate……….


• Class: B.A., LL.B. / B.B.A., LL.B.
• Section ………… Batch........
• Enrollment number
• Name of the faculty Supervisor
• Logo of the DME.
• Year of submission.
• DME Law School

• Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University
(b) Self-attested copy of the certificate from the Organization on their official
letterhead duly signed and under the seal of the organization’s supervisor.
(c) Declaration from the candidate duly signed by the intern and countersigned
by the Internship faculty Supervisor (As per Annexure I).
(d) Table of contents
(e) Chapter wise details of report from introduction to conclusion
(f) References/Bibliography
15.Submission of Internship Report:
Two typed hard copies (spiral bound) of the Internship Report along with a soft
copy of the final PPT presentation are to be submitted to the Internship faculty
Supervisor each containing self-attested copy of the internship certificate (to be
bound along with report) at the time of final PPT presentation. After the completion
of final ppt presentation, one copy of the internship report along with diary is to be
submitted in the library latest by April 27th, 2022. The second copy of the report
shall be returned to the students for their own record.
