My family is a
bit old styled. Nonetheless, I got my first 8-bit gaming console in 6 th grade. As a
result, I started playing some classic games like Mario, Contra, Islander, etc. I found
those games fascinating as a child and was curious to know how these were made.
Around three years later, I got my first PC. So, I tried even more games like Vice
City, San Andreas, and at the same time, online gaming had just started.
Consequently, I was intrigued by how internet was able to connect huge amount of
players from all over the world, in an online game. Hence, this curiousness led me to
gain knowledge about internet, networks, infrastructure and things pertinent to Cyber
World.
While I was pursuing my undergraduate studies, I have learnt many, if not all, of the
programming languages that I encountered in my whole career. My constant
diligence during my undergraduate years led me to maintain my grade history with
zero backlogs as well as my desire to gain further knowledge in my desired field.
Talking about my grade history, I have never scored less than distinction in my high
school. In college, I delved deeper into subjects like Computer Networks,
Information & Network Security, Operating Systems, etc. which will be helpful to me
in Cyber Security. During my undergraduate years, I have attended many seminars
and webinars enriched with vital industrial exposure & culture. Besides that, I have
also participated in various technical quizzes at state level, in which I secured second
place mostly. In the final year, I led my team during the development of our project,
which was Content Management System (CMS); based on python and SQL Lite
database. In addition to the courses that I have taken in my under-graduation, I did an
internship at LetsArc Media for 2 months; in which I attended lots of business
meetings and honed my communication skills with vital industrial exposure.
Because of its unadulterated natural beauty, I found Canada as one of the most exotic
locations I've ever seen. Secondly, Canada welcomes students from various countries
all over the world, which makes the study environment multinational and a highly
diverse population to interact with. Degree obtained from Canadian universities holds
great value all over the world. Canada being technically advanced, provides a
platform for students studying at Canada to develop useful skills with the help of
technically well-equipped campuses and latest study facilities. International students
who come to study at Canadian universities receive excellent support with regards to
their stay, course curriculum and career development. Talking about British
Columbia, it provides highest standards of living, besides, it is a financial hub that
presents numerous opportunities for learning. Last but not least, I adore its balmy
weather in summer and relatively warmer winters.
Sincerely,
Raj Patel
