The CPM network is updated as of the Data Date. In the example below the Data Date is work day 151.    
 
Activity A has started, but as of the Data Date the activity is estimated by the superintendent to require an 
additional 5 work days (WD) to complete.  
 
Activity B has started out‐of‐sequence relative to its planned Finish‐to‐Start relationship with Activity A.  It is 
also estimated by the superintendent to require an additional 5 WD to complete after activity A has finished.  
 
Note that historical information (actual dates) are not included in the forward or backward pass calculations.  
 
 
When using the retained logic setting the relationships remain in effect
