Rationale
Araling Panlipunan as a tool subject is of a spiral mode transmission due to its

multi role for individuals to be able to relate to the world that will discernable more

and more in quantifiable terms. Failure of the schools to deliver the Araling

Panlipunan concepts to the young generation would mean an increase of the gap

between the ignorant and knowledgeable, between the rich and the poor. The

teaching of Araling Panlipunan then is primordial as it involves the development of

the totality of man steady social amelioration and economic progress.

In view of thereof, the researcher was motivated and encourage to assess

and determine the level of implementation on the delivery system of Araling

Panlipunan program for Grade 8 learners in secondary level. Based on the careful

and honest analysis of data, to address the weakness to enhance and improve the

delivery system of Araling Panlipunan program vis a vis to improve the critical and

lack of interest in the subject area of the learners. This study is conducted in the 2 nd

District of Oriental Mindoro for the school year 2020-2021.

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to assess the level of implementation on the delivery of

Araling Panlipunan education program for the Grade 8 learners in the 2 nd District of

Oriental Mindoro as basis for a proposed intervention plan.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:

1. How do the School Administration and Araling Panlipunan Teachers assess

the delivery system of Araling Panlipunan for grade 8 Learners in the 2 nd

District of Oriental Mindoro in terms of:

1. Program Objectives;

2. Teachers’ Competence;

3. Curriculum and Instructions;

4. Teaching strategies and methodologies;

5. Physical Facilities;

6. Instructional materials and supplies;

7. Monitoring and evaluation; and

8. Leadership and governance?

2. Is there a significant difference between the assessment of the two groups of

respondents on the aforementioned variables?

3. What are the problems encountered relative to the delivery system of the

Araling Panlipunan program for Grade 8 Learners?

4. Based on the findings of the study, what do the researcher may be proposed?

5. How acceptable is the proposed intervention plan as assessed by the

respondents?

Research Method Used

The descriptive method of research is adopted in this study. This type of

research is deemed most appropriate method because it seeks to provide

information about one or two variables. It is used to answer the question “what it is”

this question can be answered in one or two ways using quantitative and qualitative

methods. This method will be useful in proving the value of facts. Focusing attention

to the most important thing to gather and collect significant and appropriate data

needed.

This approach according to Goody is appropriate whenever the object of any

class vary from among themselves. This method was also used to discover facts on

which professional judgement would be based. Specifically, this method is suited to

the present study to assess and determine the level of implementation of the

delivery system of the Araling Panlipunan education program in relation to the

academic performance of Grade 8 learners as input to develop the intervention plan

to enhance the delivery system in order to improve the academic performance of

the learners.

Research Locale

This study was conducted this school year 2020-2021 in the 2 nd District of

Oriental Mindoro.

Respondents of the Study

There are 141 totals of respondents composed of 47 school heads, 94

teachers.

Instrumentation

The following instruments will be used in gathering data to solve the

problems as stipulated:

Teacher made Survey Questionnaire was used to determine the extent

of implementation on the delivery system of Araling Panlipunan program of public

secondary schools in the 2nd District of Oriental Mindoro. As the instrument in a data

gathering the questionnaire was divided into two parts. Part I dealt with the

demographic profile of the respondents such as gender, civil status, educational

attainment, and length of service. Part II dealt with the assessment on the delivery

system on the Araling Panlipunan education program for Grade 8 learners in public

secondary school such as program objectives; teachers’ competence; curriculum and

instructions; teaching strategies and methodologies; physical facilities; instructional

materials and supplies; monitoring and evaluation; and leadership and governance.

Part III dealt with the Problems Encountered in the Delivery System of Araling

Panlipunan Program for Grade 8 learners.

1. Documentary Analysis is a systematic searching, arranging, and

interpreting of accumulated in discovering its relevance to the study such as

academic performance of the students.

2. Unstructured Interview was conducted by the researcher to check

or crosscheck/countercheck the information gathered from the survey questionnaire.

Statistical Tools Used

The data gathered were compiled, collated, and summarized separately per group.

The responses for each item were categorized based on the specific problems

raised. Frequency, Percentage, Weighted Mean, Ranking, and t-Test.

Summary

The salient findings of the study are as follows:

1. On the level of implementation on the delivery of Araling Panlipunan

program in the 2nd District of Public Secondary Schools in the

Province of Oriental Mindoro.

The overall assessment of the level of implementation on delivery of Araling

Panlipunan education program rated by the respondents as Implemented with an

obtained weighted mean value of 3.91.

2. On a significant different on the assessment of school administrators

and teachers on the aforementioned variables:

There is no significant difference on the assessment of the two group of

respondents on the level of implementation of the Araling Panlipunan education

Program.

3. On the problems encountered relative to the delivery system of the

Araling Panlipunan program for Grade 8 Learners:

To answer the problems encountered in the delivery System in Araling

Panlipunan program for Grade 8 learners, the Likert’s Five-Point Scale technique is

use as illustrated below using the average weighted mean and descriptive

equivalence.

4. On the findings, what intervention plan may be proposed:

The Intervention plan has been designed and developed to serve as a

template and guide by the administrators to improve the delivery system of the

Araling Panlipunan education program for which to provide quality service to the

learners with efficient and effective implementation to attend the goals and

objectives as spell out in the basic education curriculum.

5. On acceptability is the proposed intervention plan.

The designed and developed intervention plan was assessed by the

respondents as acceptable.

Conclusions

The conclusions of the findings of the study were as follows:

1. The overall assessment on the Level of Implementation of the Araling

Panlipunan education program rated implemented.

2. There is no significant difference on the level of implementation of the

Araling Panlipunan Education Program in the 2 nd District of Oriental Mindoro

and the Hypothesis is accepted.

3. The problems encountered relative to the delivery system of the Araling

Panlipunan program for Grade 8 Learners was average.

4. The intervention plan has been designed to address the weakness in the

implementation of the Araling Panlipunan education program for Grade 8

learners.

5. The developed intervention plan was assessed as acceptable.

Recommendations

Based on the findings and the conclusions, the following recommendations

are drawn:

1. Sustain and improve the delivery system in Aralin Panlipunan education to

improve the academic performance of the learner’s well-being and be

productive members of this society to attain the goal and objectives of the

program.

2. Strengthened commitment of teachers towards quality instruction by attending

training and seminars to enhance instructional methodologies and developed

appropriate instructional materials.

3. School heads should strengthen human relation through partnership/linkages

to acquire financial support to purchase equipment, facilities and supplies

needed for the effective implementation of the program in Araling Panlipunan.

4. Problems must be properly addressed for the effective implementation of the

Araling Panlipunan education program with the help of the

stakeholder/community for providing feedback and information to develop

mechanism to improve the program.

5. Adopt the developed intervention plan as template and guide address the

establish weaknesses of the Araling Panlipunan education program.

6. Perpetual revision of the learning guide to keep attain with the emerging

technology and instructions.

7. Conduct parallel studies with the same content and parameters to discover

variables which are not included in this study.
