The Midas Touch

Each year, Midas comes down from heaven

Setting all of creation to golden
Leaves turn to scarlet with lines of glimmer
Melting gold sunshine seeps from its center

A car packed with people

In my strings of fate, you seem to entangle
Hair shining and light outlining your face
Surrounding you, glittering gold you embrace

Maybe this is why gold is put as first

When my heart seems to burst
At the thought of you throwing a smile
With eyes that put the finest diamond out of style

Midas visits with a warning on mind

A blessing meant to unwind
Truly, a season for the world to change
Also foreshadowing thoughts and feelings to rearrange

In a quiet space as the leaves rustle and wind whisper

As Nature follows its master
As if Midas’ grace is passing
You speak with honey dripping

When earth beneath, and the sky above blurs in a dream-like reality
The lethal arrow of you pierces through my life of ordinary
And as change and uncertainty is autumn’s call
I, too, follow my path to fall.
Threading on Ice

I’ve always wanted to skate on ice

But this is what love on the first year emphasize
White shite snow beds and blue blue waters of a frozen lake
Two people stand with their hearts at stake

I guess new relationships are hard

When you still have walls put up and personalities on guard
From friends to lovers, the getting-to-know seems to continue
Each day is both of us learning how to stay true

It seems so surreal
To dance with a partner of my equal
Lines carved on ice as we move through
My ideas of you seem to renew

Within our foggy breath, sweet nothings to share and mingle

Adding a layer of ice that still seem to be brittle
As if putting an act while speaking up with courage
We are the main characters and this ice cold scenery is our stage

Every snowflake falling is a thought of what if

You bring stars as answers that lead to my relief
Wishing on snow angels and making snowmen
Building a future in this white heaven garden

We stop for a moment

Looking back at the carvings of our movement
It may be cold but the hands holding me are warm
The feelings of pure love seem to swarm

But then, the ice cracks

Supported by the feelings behind the masks
It is known that ripples are meant to be
The dark and cold winter we will see

It plunges us into a deep blue

In times of trouble, how can one continue?
In a still frame of dead trees to the freezing waters
The flower of love and choice to stay is the thin veil that covers
Rainiest Season

Sunshine spreads its first light with a yawn

A soft breeze carrying the whispers of the petals
Little animals waking up at dawn
The scent of dewdrops on grass settles

Snow on my hands, start to melt

Dancing wild is the waters of the river
The magic of winter slowly becomes dispelled
And this heart of mine begins to waver

Amidst beautiful blooming blossoms

Comes thundering clouds and dagger-like raindrops
I thought of it as only hormonal symptoms
But day by day, unpredictable weather won’t stop

In the middle of studies and laughter

Roads blocked, schools closed and cities barricaded
The wings of renaissance flutter
When people’s minds spiraled and their heart’s devastated

Trust me when I say,

I look for four-leaf clovers under the harsh sun
I made up my mind to stay
Even if there’s nothing you could have done

Just like dandelions blown and bees buzzing

There is comfort in the known
With you and I here, smiling
Oh, how the garden has grown
Ocean’s Feelings

A winds whistle from your eye’s view

An open mind or something new
An open hearted couple, and a pair of open toe shoes
A place to go to greet the great big blues.

The shifting sands surround your sandals

Getting your goggles, excitement bubbles
The sun shimmers, unsure, awaiting
Inside this heart, a fire starts burning

I step and sense a ripple

Continuing until it’s known that sand is fitful
As my feet sink, my feelings turn fickle
As if the pieces move into their place in this mind of a puzzle

I can’t seem to forget

When I told you all my greatest regret
And the waves crash unto the rock
Your face changes into a contented shock

Warmth radiate from your skin

We’re back to our routine
Opening your heart seems easier
When the air around us is lovelier

As if you were waiting in knee-deep water

Looking back at me if I falter
But a hand ever-ready at the side
To catch me and in your arms I’ll hide

Together in the stillness of the waves

Comes the silence in echoing caves
The taste of this heat
Brings out truth in a love oh so sweet

However quick the sands may shift

Whatever distance we may drift.
Our hearts forever intertwine,
When we face the sands of time.
