Last Sunday, the circus was in Sue’s town. Sue really wanted to go. ‘We can go on Sunday,’
said Sue’s dad. ‘Wow! I can’t wait!’ shouted Sue.
When they got to the circus, first they saw the clowns. The clowns did some funny
acrobatics. They could juggle very well, but they couldn’t walk on a ball, and they fell off all
the time! One clown could knit and ride a bike at the same time! After that, a magician came
out and did a trick with a rabbit. Sue loved magic tricks. ‘Where did the rabbit go?’ Sue
asked her dad.
After the show, a woman painted funny portraits of the children and their families. Sue put
her portrait in her room to remember her day at the circus!
The pupils look at the picture and read the story. Then they write words to complete the
sentences about the story. They can use 1, 2 or 3 words.

The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in
London. It is 135 metres high and the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe! From the top you
can see very far away, but only when the weather isn’t foggy or cloudy. It’s a great way
to see some of the city sights!
The London Eye can carry 800 people. It has got 32 capsules, and each one can carry
up to 25 people. It is very slow and it doesn’t stop for people to get on or off. The ride
takes 30 minutes and the ticket is £27. It’s really easy to get to the London Eye by bus
or by underground.
The London Eye is very popular and more than 3.5 million people visit it every year.
