To read pages 22-25  Look at page 22. What is it? 20
Story Time  Read page 23. Look at the different things that can be made from
glass. Ask if they remember some of the things that can be made
from recycling plastic bottles, cans, tyres, and newspapers. Refer to
pages 28-29. Ask if they think the bottle is in the furnace.
 Turn to page 25. What has the man found? Read page 24.
 What do you think the man is going to do?
To discuss presentation of What  Tell the children they are going to present their book to their parents S8M1 30
Plan if? and to finalise a presentation in the last lesson. Ask them what should be in a performance. They S8M2
presentation format. should come back with ideas like: songs, acting, dance. Ask them to
remember the songs and chants they’ve studied. Ask them what the
book is about. Make the children feel like they are choosing what they
To practise reading out loud. want to present. Order the presentation chronologically with the book.
It is better to assign roles so that the children are suitably challenged.
Find out if anyone will be absent for the presentation. Make a note of
who is saying what. Hand out slips of paper cut from S8M2 for the
pupils to take home and learn. Some pupils will have more than one
slip of paper.
 Have an initial run through as a whole class. This is just to practice
reading out loud and to work on pronunciation as well.

To make invitations  Tell the children they can invite people to watch their presentation S8M3 20
Craft and that they are going to make invitations.

 Show them the model version (S8M3 is a picture of one) and
demonstrate how you made it.
 Put the text on the board for them to copy. Indicate where they should
write the names of their guests.
 Hand out the craft materials. Make sure they don’t glue the bottle
shut!
