THE INTERNET
The Internet or The Net is a vast network that connects computers all
over the word. Through the internet, people are able to share
information, connect and communicate from anywhere with an internet
connection. The internet is compose of technology that was developed by

different people and organizations. Internet also refers to the biggest

world-wide communication network of computers. It is used for many
things including e-mail, online chat, file sharing, and many more.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE INTERNET Internet is rooted in

the USA during 1950s where computers are so massive and it is used by
military scientist for communication during the Cold War. In 1962, a
scientist named J.C.R Licklider proposed the idea of a network of
computer that could communicate to one another. In 1969, a first-ever
message was sent from one computer to another in the ARPANET (The
Advance Research Project
Agency Network), the
government's computer
network. However it only
receive the first two letters of
the message. In 1971, the
University of Hawaii's Aloha
net was added followed by
various networks in London
and Norway. Also Ray
Tomlinson was developing the
first system to send mail back
and forth between users of

ARPANET and
eventually called
electronic email or e-
mail. Vinton Cerf
during this time has
invented a way to
introduce computers
across the globe to
each other in a virtual
space. The invention
was called
Transmission Control
Protocol or TCP which
is followed by Internet
Protocol or IP. In the 1980s, scientist used surf's protocol to send data
back and forth. In 1991, computer programmer named Tim Burners-Lee
invented the World Wide Web.

server.
