Useful Resources - Type Theory
Useful Resources - Type Theory
People sometimes ask me for book suggestions about various subjects, so I have
compiled this list for easy reference. I’m always exploring new books and will add
more titles as I come across them. Generally speaking, I choose resources with
the following criteria in mind: 1) the author possesses the expected level of valid
expertise, 2) the most important concepts are adequately covered, preferably in a
comprehensive, well-written, and organized manner, and/or 3) the book is a
classic and considered required reading for deep and well-rounded knowledge on
the topic. Different people have different reading needs, goals, and preferences,
so I have tried to include a mix of different approaches, from practical to more
theoretical. Some titles are college course textbooks, in which case, remember to
note the latest edition.
Disclaimer: I cannot endorse every word in these resources because I have only
skimmed through a few of them for the sake of helping those who want to make
use of my background knowledge to pick out good possibilities. Buyer beware!
When in doubt about whether a book is suitable for your individual needs, I
suggest that you read online reviews and/or first peruse the contents at a library,
bookstore, or in Google Books, if available. I’ve heard that betterworldbooks.com
and thriftbooks.com are good for buying used books (haven’t tried them myself).

There are many books related to Jungian personality type with varying levels of
depth, sophistication, research, and writing quality. While I read some of these
years ago and might have a different opinion on them now, I believe that these
authors treat the subject seriously even as there are quibbles among them.
