Christmas Skit 2021

Introduction
Christmas is a season of love, harmony, and celebration. This is a particular time to celebrate Jesus
Christ’s birth. Being a festival for Christians also, this festival is celebrated by everybody with great
enthusiasm as well as joy. People light their homes with candles, decorations, and Christmas trees
which is a must for symbolizing Christ. Christmas carols are one of the best things or can be said as the
best charm of this festival, which is sung in the churches to welcome the occasion festivities. Christmas
remind us that we should stick to the essential aspects of humankind. So here we are going to present
you a short skit on Birth of Jesus. Hope you will enjoy it.
Narrator:- In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy God send an angel Gabrial to a town in Galilee
named Nazareth. He had a message for a girl promised in marriage to a man named Joseph who was a
descendant of king David . The girls name was Mary. The angel said to her.
( Mary enter/ come to the stage. She will be doing something when angel appear to her)
Angel:- Peace be with you. God has blessed you and he is pleased with you.
(Mary on the stage with fear and tension)
Narrator:- Mary was deeply troubled by the angels message and she wondered what this words meant.
( Mary on the stage with fear ad surprises)
Angel:- Do not be afraid Mary, God has been gracious to you. You will become pregnant and give birth
to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the son of the highest God. The
Lord will make Him a king.
Mary:- I am a virgin, how can this be?
Angel:-The Holy Spirit will come on you and God’s power will rest upon you. For this reason the Holy
child will be called the son of God, remember her relative Elizaeth. It is said that she cannot have
children, but she herself is now six moths pregnant even though she is very old. For there is nothing is
impossible for God.
Mary:- I am the Lord’s servant, may it happen to me as you have said.
Narrator:- And the angel left her.
( Mary & angel leave the stage)
Narrator:- ( Mary & Elizaeth on the stage) Soon after words Mary got ready and hurried to a town in
the hill country of Judaea. She went in to Elizaeth’s house and greeted Elizaeth. When Elizabeth heard
her greetings, the baby moved within her.
( Mary & Elizabeth o the stage with the expression of joy)
Narrator:- Elizaeth was filled with the holy Spirit and said Iin a loud voice.
Elizabeth:- You are the most blessed of all women and blessed is the child you will bear. Why should
this great things happened to me , that my Lord’s mother comes to visit me? For as soon I heard her
greetings the baby within me jumped with gladness.
Narrator: - Mary stayed with Elizabeth about three months and then return to Nazareth.
Narrator: - Joseph was a very good man and so he wanted to be kind and worried when he found out
that Mary was expecting a baby before their marriage had taken place. He wondered if he should put off
the wedding altogether. Then an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and said. ( on the stage joseph
with fear and tension )
Angel: - Do not be afraid to have Mary as your wife. Mary had been chosen by God to be the mother of
His Son and baby would be named Jesus.
Narrator: - At that time Ceasar Augustus Mary and Joseph livid as the part of Roman emperor. The
Roman Emperor wanted to have the list of all the people nearby to make sure they pay the taxes. He
wanted everyone to return to their families which they came from. After travelling long distance Joseph
and Mary arrived in Bethlehem. They travelled very slowly because Mary’s baby due to be born very
soon. When they reached in Bethlehem, they had troubled to find the place to stay. The inn was full.
Seeing the conditions of Mary, the owner of the inn told to Joseph that there is only one place left that is
his stable where he keeps his cattle’s. So Joseph and Mary could stay in the stable.
(3 Inne keepers o the stage)
(inn keeper giving place to them)
Narrator:- Mary and Joseph settled down on the hay in the stable with the animals. Mary went into the
labour and gave birth to a son.
( Mary & Joseph on the stage with Jesus)
Narrator:- (angel appearing to the shepherd) Near the little town of Bethlehem, there were some
shepherds living out in the fields, watching their flocks of sheep at night. And all of a sudden an angel of
the Lord appeared to them and they were really scared.
Angel:- ( shepherd & sheep on the stage while angel appear) Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of
great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a saviour has been born to you; he
is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you. You will find a baby wrapped in clothes and lying in a
manger.
(many angels enter In the stage)

Narrator: - Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and
saying………………
(All the angel will say together) Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his
favour rests.
( angel come forward to dance Gloria)

Narrator:- When the angel had left them and gone in to heaven, the shepherd said to one
another…………
Shepherds:- Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this things that has happened, which the Lord has told us
about.
Narrator:- So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the baby who was lying in the manger.
( Shepherds walk over and sit near the manger.)
Narrator:- The shepherd returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and
seen, which were just as they had been told.
(Mary sits in the manger)
Narrator:- Now there are some wise men who lived in countries nearby, have come to find baby Jesus.
Wise men:- Where is the one who has been born king of the jews? We saw his star in the east and have
come to worship him.
Narrator:- King Herod knew the ancient prophecies that there would be a Messiah born to the Jews. He
knew that this was the king they were talking about. He secretly didn’t want there to be any king but
himself. He calked all the Jewish larders together ad asked them. Where is the Messiah to be born?
Narrator:- He will be born in Bethlehem.
Herod:- ( To the wise men)King of the Jews you say? Tell me more. Exactly when did you see the star
appear?
Narrator:- So the wise men told exactly when they had seen the star.
Herod:- Go and find him and when you find him you come back and tell me so that I can come ad
worship him as well.
( Wise men on the stage to see baby Jesus with gifts)
Narrator:- The wise men went on their way, and the stars they had seen in the east went ahead of them
until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.
( Wise men left the stage)
Narrator:- Well almost. Later Joseph was visited by an angel in a dream ad told that Herod had died. So
he and Mary, and Jesus moved back from Egypt to their hometown of Nazareth.
