MOVIE REVIEW: PK

Earlier today I finished watching the 2014 Indian Hindi language science fiction comedy
film PK. It was written by Hirani (Director) and Abhijat Joshi and directed by Rajkumar Hirani
who is also the director of the worldwide hit movie 3 Idiots. The movie is all about an alien
named Pk (Aamir Khan) from another planet that was sent here on earth to do some research, but
after setting his foot here the remote control for his spaceship and the only connection that he
had to his home planet got stolen by an unknown man and this is where Pk’s journey start. As an
alien who doesn’t understand the system here in our planet, Pk tries his best to adapt the human
nature and learned the Hindi language. As the story goes by Pk met Jaggu (Anushka Sharma) a
TV reporter whom takes interest in his life to make a story out of it and air it on the National TV.
These two team up to retrieve Pk’s remote control and question how our lives function in a
complex system of religion and faith. However, behind the huge success of this film it receives a
lot of negative comments because of its religious concept.
After watching the film, it gives me different reactions I laugh in how PK gets confuse in
our planet and how system works here and also salute to Mr. Aamir Khan because he really did
well in portraying his role. It looks even more funnier because of his facial expressions. I also
feel a little bit of sadness because I thought Pk and Jaggu will be together in the end.
As for me, this film is one of the best films that I ever watched Pk is just like us, we enter
this world without knowledge about anything and any understanding about what is right and
wrong. Pk’s curiosity takes us on a journey through life and it is an eye opener to the viewers.
This film tells us how our society is made up of lies and it shows how religion works here like
how the Godmen creates religion just to asked people for money and donations. It’s just sad to
know that many people misunderstood this film and think that it mocks religions. This movie just
simply says that we should believe in God not in God’s men but still we should respect other
people’s beliefs.
Pk teach us many lessons. It shows us the reality and how the world works. Especially
how religions divide us people. Pk makes me wonder why people look at God with different
perspective. Over all, this is a great and must watch film you, yourself will also end up asking
questions like Pk.
