Beneficent the Merciful. “O Allah shower Your choicest blessings
and mercy upon Your beloved Rasul ‫ ﺻﻠﻰ ﷲ ﻋﻠﯿﮫ و ﺳﻠﻢ‬who is the
best of all creation forever and ever Aameen.” I thank Allah ‫ﺗﻌﺎ ﻟﻰ‬
for His favours and taufeeq for this work, without which was not
possible, as strength to do anything comes ultimately from Him.
Inshallah, I am hopeful for its acceptance and readers are requested to
supplicate (make dua’a) for the same.
I have written this article “Islam is Exceptional” for the benefit of the
readers, especially for non-Muslims. It outlines the uniqueness of this
great faith compared to other religions of the book. We hope this
article will shine a light in the right direction for those who genuinely
want to find the TRUTH. If anyone wants to find the TRUTH, they
will find it, but need to be persistent. True knowledge and faith is like
hand-in-glove. We need to increase our Knowledge to increase our
faith. Knowledge is a great asset, but most benefit is gained when it
is practiced upon. Moreover, one of the first questions on the Day of
Qiyamah will be, “Did you practice upon the knowledge you had?”
May Allah ‫ ﺗﻌﺎ ﻟﻰ‬grant all of us taufeeq to practice upon the
knowledge we possess and have the correct faith, Aameen.
One of the prime intentions for this work is due to the saying of
Allah ‫ ﺗﻌﺎ ﻟﻰ‬who says; “Therefore, remind (men) in case the
reminder profits them.”[Al-A’la 87:9]. Moreover, He says, “Let there

enjoining Al-Ma’ruf (righteousness) and forbidding Al-Munkar (evil).
And it is they who are successful.” [Al-Imraan 3:104]
An effort has been made to write this article with some commentary
given at the end under References where necessary. If anyone feels it is
necessary to a have a translation in the Arabic text alongside the
English text, should write to the publisher. The same applies to
whether a shortened version (summary) of “Islam is Exceptional” will
be useful and required by you, the reader. Your comments on this
issue, or any other suggestions that you may have, will be most

Islam is Exceptional
Islam is special in many ways. It is like a multi-faceted precious
jewel emitting light to its surroundings and once this light is absorbed
by its adherents it transforms them beyond imagination. Firstly, it’s
the only religion in the world that is monotheistic, i.e. the belief in
ONE God (Allah the most high) ‫ ﷻ‬who created the heavens and the
earth, the creatures and all mankind. Also, this means He created you
and I and one day we will have to give account about what we did in
this mundane life. Secondly, Islam is unique because the Holy book
(the Holy Qur’an) has not been changed since it has been passed
down, by means of revelation, from heaven to earth by angel Gabriel
for the guidance of mankind - the LAST AND FINAL Testament.
The third outstanding feature about this monolithic faith is that it
acknowledges all the prophets from the first man, Adam ‘‫’ﻋﻠﯿﮫ اﻟﺴﻼم‬
(peace be upon him) to the last and final Messenger of God, the
Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) ‫ﷺ‬. As a final
point, Islam isn’t just a religion, rather it is a whole way of life,
which means nothing is left out, allowing good things (helping the
poor, charity, taking care of one’s parents1, etc.) and disallowing
bad/evil things (drugs, alcohol, sodomy, gambling, cult devotion,
etc.). A follower of this TRUE creed gains peace and tranquility in this
world 2 and total bliss in paradise in the next world, which will be
infinite! Thus the reward for not worshipping anything created, but
acknowledging and worshipping the ONE true unseen God and
Sustainer ‫ ﷻ‬of the entire universe.
Devotion to the ONE TRUE GOD (Allah the most high) ‫ ﷻ‬who is the sole
creator of the universe (seventy-eight billion light years across)3 and
everything in it (including ten billion distinct species) is an essential
tenet of Islam. In fact, the whole cosmos, consisting of a hundred
billion galaxies3, lies under the footstool of the Almighty (Allah the most
high) ‫ﷻ‬. Allah ‫ ﷻ‬says that he can forgive any amount of sins, even if
they reach the sky or as much as the foam in the oceans, but there is
one sin He won’t pardon and that is “shirk”; this is worshipping
anything other than the creator Himself/associating anyone or anything
with Him. This means, worshipping any part of the creation, such as:
the sun, the moon, a cow, a prophet, a saint, idols made of stone, fire or
Satan. Because the object of worship is other than the ONE TRUE
GOD (Allah the most high) ‫ﷻ‬, this is the worst type of crime and is
unforgivable! Such unfortunate people will be doomed to the misery

3. The universe, spectacular in its majesty, is an assembly of a hundred billion galaxies. Each of these galaxies has billions of stars. The immensity of the
universe can hardly be grasped by our tiny minds and that our fragile planet Earth, or even that of the Milky Way, is insignificant compared to the size of the
remainder of the cosmos. Galaxies, of various shapes and sizes, are rotating accumulation of stars. The Milky Way Galaxy containing planet Earth is so big that
light, which travel at186,000 miles (300,000 km) per second, takes 100,000 years to cross from one end to the other. In measuring the great distances between
stars and galaxies, light-years (ly) are used. A light-year is the distance that light travels in a year—5.9 trillion miles (10 trillion km). A light-year is a unit of
distance, not time, e.g. the nearest star is about 4.25 light-years from Earth.

of hell forever - to the end of time and beyond. What’s worse is that over 1400 years ago over a span of twenty-three years. It was preserved
there will be no reprieve, but continuous torment which will never at the time in the hearts of devotees and then written down in the form
decrease!4 Just as bad is atheism, and to a lesser degree is the abstract of a book. This book of guidance is unparalleled in history! Anybody
worshipping of other entities, such as, money, celebrities, sports and reading this tremendous piece of solid legislation will know that it is
one’s desire. May Allah ‫ ﷻ‬save us from this, Ameen. Allah (the most divine and could only be written by a Divine Entity. The great literary
high) ‫ ﷻ‬says to the worshipper of statues that the deity you are writers of the day, and even now, know that the Holy Qur’an is full of
worshipping cannot even create a fly! This is a challenge from Allah power, eloquence, wisdom, rational thought and provides guidance for
(the most high) ‫ﷻ‬, the sole creator of the universe, to the idolaters!5 all of mankind; its literary merit is out of this world! Unlike previous

4. God Almighty ‫ ﷻ‬has said in the Qur’an: Those who have disbelieved and died in disbelief, the earth full of gold would not be accepted from any of them if
one offered it as a ransom. They will have a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers. (Qur’an, 3:91)
5. (Verily, those on whom you call besides Allah ‫ﷻ‬, cannot create a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose.) Even if all the idols and false gods
whom you worship were to come together to create a single fly, they would not be able to do that. (22:73) Moreover, Allah ‫ ﷻ‬said, (Do they attribute as
partners to Allah ‫ ﷻ‬those who created nothing but they themselves are created) meaning, `Do you associate with Allah ‫ ﷻ‬others that neither create, nor have
power to create anything'.

Say: "Bring then a Surah (chapter) like it, and call upon whomsoever you can besides Allah ‫ﷻ‬, if you are truthful!''). Indeed, We have sent down the Qur’an,
and surely We will guard it (from corruption). (Qur’an, 15:9)
7. If all the holy books in the world were to be put in the ocean, the only book that could be reproduced or replicated would be the Holy Qur’an! This would be
done by collecting several “Hafiz” of Qur’an who would recite what is in their heart and a scribe would write.

The Holy Qur’an is a miracle of miracles, in the sense that it contains by a human, let alone someone who is “Ummi” or unlettered- which
many scientific facts that were discovered only centuries later, such means: illiterate, uneducated, unschooled and untutored! This title of

sayings of the Prophet Muhammad ‫ﷺ‬:{ In every one of you, all components of your creation are collected together in your mother’s womb by forty days...
}Narrated in Saheeh Muslim, #2643, and Saheeh Al-Bukhari, #3208 { If forty-two nights have passed over the embryo, God (Allah the most high) ‫ ﷻ‬sends an
angel to it, who shapes it and creates its hearing, vision, skin, flesh, and bones.... }.
The Holy Qur’an mentioned that there is a barrier between two seas that meet and that they do not transgress. God (Allah the most high)‫ ﷻ‬has said: He has set
free the two seas meeting together. There is a barrier between them. They do not transgress (Qur’an, 55:19-20). But when the Qur’an speaks about the divider
between fresh and salt water, it mentions the existence of “a forbidding partition” with the barrier. God (Allah the most high) ‫ ﷻ‬has said in the Qur’an: He is the
one who has set free the two kinds of water, one sweet and palatable, and the other salty and bitter. And He has made between them a barrier and a forbidding
partition (Qur’an, 25:53).
(Allah the most high ‫ ﷻ‬is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see. Then, He ‫ ﷻ‬rose above (Istawa) the `Arsh ﴾Throne﴿. He has
subjected the sun and the moon, each running (its course) for a term appointed. He manages and regulates all affairs; He explains the Ayat in detail, that you
may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.) ﴾36:38﴿ (Blessed be He (the most high) ‫ ﷻ‬Who has placed in the heaven Al-Buruj, and has placed
therein a great lamp, and a moon giving light.) (And He ‫ ﷻ‬it is Who has put the night and the day in succession (Khilfatan), for such who desires to remember

Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) ‫ ﷺ‬and Prophet Jesus
‘‫( ’ﻋﻠﯿﮫ اﻟﺴﻼم‬peace be upon him) has acknowledged this (referenced in at
least one Gospel10). Moreover, the Muslims believe in the second
coming of Christ ‘‫( ’ﻋﻠﯿﮫ اﻟﺴﻼم‬peace be upon him) and when he comes he
will lead the believers in prayer ~ better known as “salah” (in the
Umayyad masjid in Damascus). It is quite ironic that Prophet Jesus’
‘‫( ’ﻋﻠﯿﮫ اﻟﺴﻼم‬peace be upon him) name has been mentioned more times
(twenty-five times in fact) in the Holy Qur’an - the last and final
Testament - than the name of the Prophet Mohammed (peace and
blessings be upon him) ‫( ﷺ‬mentioned five times)! Other Prophets ‘ ‫ﻋﻠﯿﮫ‬
‫( ’اﻟﺴﻼم‬peace be upon them) came with the same message and their own
Holy Scriptures, e.g. Moses ‘‫( ’ﻋﻠﯿﮫ اﻟﺴﻼم‬peace be upon him) with the Holy
Torah and David ‘‫( ’ﻋﻠﯿﮫ اﻟﺴﻼم‬peace be upon him) with the Holy book of
Psalms (Zabur). Also, Ibrahim ‘‫( ’ﻋﻠﯿﮫ اﻟﺴﻼم‬peace be upon him) came with

or desires to show his gratitude.) - (and a moon giving light.) means, shining and illuminated by the light of something else, different from the light of the sun.
(It is He Who made the sun a shining thing and the moon as a light and measured out for it stages that you might know the number of years and the
reckoning. Allah did not create this but in truth. He explains the Ayat in detail for people who have knowledge.) (6. Verily, in the alternation of the night and
the day and in all that Allah has created in the heavens and the earth are Ayat for those who have Taqwa.) (And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to
traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in
an orbit.) (36:39-40) ( Have they not looked at the heaven above them, how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no Furuj in it - i.e., clefts, rifts, or
cracks.
And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon Rawasi standing firm (which are the mountains to save the earth from shaking along with its inhabitants),
and We planted in it every lovely (Bahij) pair - every kind and species of plant, fruit and vegetation). (9. And We send down blessed water (rain) from the
sky, then We produce therewith Jannat and grain that are reaped.) (10. And date palms Basiqat, with arranged clusters - meaning, tall and high. (11. And We
give life therewith to a dead land. Thus will be the Resurrection.) (And whatsoever He has created of varying colors on the earth for you. ) When Allah (the
most high) ‫ ﷻ‬points out the features of the skies, He also points out the wondrous things that He has created on earth, the variety of its animals, minerals,
plants and inanimate features, all having different colors and shapes, benefits and qualities. (16:12) (47. With Hands We constructed the heaven. Verily, We
are able to expand the vastness of space thereof.) (48. And We have made the earth a Firash; how excellent spreader (thereof) are We!) (49. And of
everything We have created pairs, that you may remember.) (50. So, flee to Allah ‫ﷻ‬. Verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him.) (51. And set not up any
other god along with Allah ‫ﷻ‬. Verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him.) (51:47) Allah ‫ ﷻ‬mentions His perfect ability and infinite authority, since it is He
Who has raised the heavens without pillars by His permission and order. He, by His leave, order and power, has elevated the heavens high above the earth,
distant and far away from reach. The heaven nearest to the present world encompasses the earth from all directions, and is also high above it from every
direction. The distance between the first heaven and the earth is five hundred years from every direction, and its thickness is also five hundred years. The
second heaven surrounds the first heaven from every direction, encompassing everything that the latter carries, with a thickness also of five hundred years and a
distance between them of five hundred years. The same is also true about the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth and the seventh heavens. (Prostrate yourselves
not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate yourselves to Allah ‫ ﷻ‬Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.) ﴾41:37﴿
9. "When it commences, the heavens will be torn, the stars will scatter all over, the sun will be wound round (thus losing its light), the mountains will be made to
pass away and all of which Allah ‫ ﷻ‬spoke of will occur. This is the meaning of its (the Hour) burden being heavy. Also, the Hour will not commence until the
sun rises from the west. When it rises (from the west) and the people see it, then, all people will believe. However, this is when faith does not benefit a soul that
did not believe beforehand nor earned good in faith.

Scrolls of guidance for his people. The pinnacle of prophethood,
however, occurred with the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings
be upon him) ‫ ﷺ‬whose mission was extraordinary. Such as, his
prophecies which have all come true with amazing accuracy, and
scores of which have yet to materialize.11 The Prophet Mohammed's
(peace and blessings be upon him) ‫ ﷺ‬mission was also unique12
because it ended the chain of prophethood until the last day.
In conclusion, Islam believes in the oneness of the One true God (Allah
the most high) ‫( ﷻ‬Tauheed). Allah ‫ ﷻ‬says in the Holy Qur’an, “If there
were two Gods then you would see much incongruity in the world!”
No mortal can have the divine attributes of God and vice versa. Allah
(the most high) ‫ ﷻ‬has no beginning and no end – He does not beget
nor is He begotten. He has created the world for mankind and mankind
for Himself. He loves you as an individual more than your mother
loves you! The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ‫ ﷺ‬said, ‘Allah ‫ﷻ‬
is more merciful to His slaves than this woman is to her child.’ (Agreed
upon)13. Before any human came into this world, Allah, (the most high)
‫ ﷻ‬gathered all the souls and took a covenant from them and said, “Am
I not your Lord ‫ ”?ﷻ‬All replied in the affirmative, “Yes.”( Qur’an,
7:172). But after coming to earth some have remembered (the
believers) and others have forgotten (the disbelievers) the reply that
they had once given before in another time and dimension.
It has also been mentioned that a divine scripture (the Holy Qur’an)
exists for the guidance of mankind which has withstood the test of time.
This text is backed-up with authentic books called Hadith (traditions of
the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) ‫ ﷺ‬compiled and
documented in a scientific and systematic way (for the first time in
history) using the chain of narration methodology. The fact

10. The Gospel of Barnabas, so called. The coming of the final Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) ‫ ﷺ‬is foretold in this Gospel. In fact we
are told about the last verse of the Holy Bible. It is “la ilaha illallah al malikul haqqul mubin;” It means, There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah the
Almighty ‫ﷻ‬, the Sovereign, Truth, Manifest. This statement can be seen in the Masjid Nabawi in Al-Madinah. So, there are many common denominators
between Islam and Christianity. The latter being the closest to Islam than all the other religions.
11. The Prophet Mohammed ‫ ﷺ‬has said many things- referred to as prophesies- such as, near the end of time: a man will marry a man and a women will marry
a women; also, he said, people will compete in building tall buildings (Burj Kalifah); music will be heard in the masjid; women will outnumber men by 50:1,
the worst of the people will become the leaders, intoxicants, music and dance will be widespread, fornication will be like that of animals, etc…
12. All prophets demonstrated miracles during their time and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed about 10,000
miracles during his mission. A survey (by Herbert Hart - a non-Muslim (1907 – 1992) was an influential legal philosopher of the 20th century) was done about
the most influential personalities in history and he placed Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) ‫ ﷺ‬as number one. This survey may be obtained as a

13. It was narrated that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Some prisoners were brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him), and there was a woman among the prisoners who was searching (for her child). When she found her child she embraced him
and put him to her breast. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to us, ‘Do you think that this woman would throw her child
in the fire?’ We said, ‘No, by Allah, not if she is able not to.’ The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘Allah is more merciful
to His slaves than this woman is to her child.’” (Agreed upon)

is, the true religion (explaining the truth about life and our purpose in
this world) will always be available to be followed and there will
always be a group on the right path until the day of Resurrection. A
person who is serious about finding the truth about life and our
purpose in this world will definitely find it, but he/she needs to keep
an open mind in their quest and not abandon it. One in five people is a
Muslim on the globe and Islam is the fastest growing religion in the
world. In fact Allah (the most high) ‫ ﷻ‬says in the Holy Qur’an, “This
religion (Islam) will supersede every other religion.”9/14 Those who die
on this creed of men and jinn15 (this is an intelligent spirit being of
humankind counterpart) will enter Paradise - a place of bliss, glory and
ecstasy.
The final abode is Heaven for the successful believers; a place no eye
has seen, no ear has heard and no heart has ever felt. It has 120
different levels according to the rank of its occupants. The lowest
ranked believer will be given ten times the size of this world16.
Anything asked for will be given; what any soul desires will instantly
materialize. Heaven is beyond ones imagination: it contains rivers of
honey and milk; palaces made of gold and silver bricks with mortar
made of musk and their doors shinning like stars; for the dwellers of the
garden, there are huge tents (sixty meters tall) made from one pearl;
there are huge trees with gold/silver trunks (the bark being transparent);
the stones on pathways are made of pearls and rubies; and so on….The
specifications of all these luxuries in Paradise, and much more, is much
higher of course compared to this world. And let us not forget the dark
eyed damsels. The dwellers will be in total bliss and pleasure beyond
their wildest dreams. This ecstasy, harmony and delight will be eternal,
but the biggest prize valued more than Paradise itself is the meeting and
vision of Allah the Almighty Himself ‫ﷻ‬. This will be the ultimate
