Safety regulations
The maintenance manual and the operator’s manual must be read carefully before starting any work on the
device. The safety information in the maintenance manual and the operator’s manual must be strictly
adhered to.
The device must only be handled, operated and serviced by persons trained in the
corresponding subjects by HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH. Do not remove any
protective devices or take them out of service.
HBD647014 ENG Instandhaltungshandbuch DELTA-FW V8.00.000
Maintenance work is only permitted when production has stopped, the main power
switch has been switched off and the compressed air supply has been shut off!

DELTA-FW rejector
The use of unsuitable cleaning agents and/or disinfectants can destroy the
passive layer and consequently the prerequisite for unwanted corrosion is given.
The long durability of stainless steel presupposes correct maintenance. The following information gives
important tips for keeping the stainless steel surfaces of HEUFT devices in good condition and for removing
any damage to the passive layer which may have occurred.
Cleaning must only be carried out when production has halted. Remove all production
containers inside and in the vicinity of the equipment to be cleaned so that there is no
danger of cleaning agents or disinfectants entering the production containers.
10
DELTA-FW rejector
Tough dirt deposits (e.g. lubricating grease, product residue) must be removed
HBD647014 ENG Instandhaltungshandbuch DELTA-FW V8.00.000
Disinfectant must be rinsed off with water which is as soft as possible after it has been
used and before it begins to dry because it can also attack the passive layer.
11
DELTA-FW rejector
Only allow the cleaning agent to work in on the surface for a short time. After cleaning
rinse off the cleaning agent thoroughly with soft water so that none of the cleaning agent
remains on the parts which have been cleaned.
What to do if there is nevertheless rust (film)?
The use of a stainless steel cleaner is recommended if rust (film) has formed on the surface (HEUFT article
number HPB800010 ST). The stainless steel cleaner is sprayed on and then vigorously rubbed off with a
commercially available cloth. Broken up traces of rust are easily removed in this way. Very dirty areas
should be treated purposefully several times. After the treatment rinse off the cleaning agent thoroughly
with soft water so that none of the stainless steel cleaner remains on the parts which have been cleaned.

(Þ Clean the filter regulator, page 71).
4. Close the drain valve of the filter regulator.
» Shake the hose of the main air connection to make sure that the hose is fixed securely to the filter

» Secure the air hose if the main air connection is loose.
» Turn the regulator knob to the right until the manometer displays "4 bar".
Then press the regulator knob downwards into the adjusting lock. This prevents the set pressure from
being inadvertently misadjusted.

(please see picture above, Page 27).
8. Switch off the conveyor.

been installed too far inwards. Containers to be rejected are not directed
to the first rejection segment. As a result the container cannot be
smoothly rejected. There is a danger of the containers falling over.
Þ Remove edge, page 30
Incorrect
The guide rail has been installed too far outwards. Containers to be
rejected are not directed to the first rejection segment. The containers
crash into the rejection segment. As a result the containers start to spin
and can fall over.
Þ Remove edge, page 30
Remove edge
1. Loosen the guide rail fastening from the rejector.
2. Move the guide rail until there is no longer an edge.

Slight formation of foam
over the complete width of
the conveyor chain
HBD647014 ENG Instandhaltungshandbuch DELTA-FW V8.00.000
Lubrication (1) is optimum. Water is spread out and causes slight formation of foam
on the conveyor. Foam forms over the complete width of the conveyor chain.
Lubrication (2) and (3) are poor due to the fact that the strong water jet does not
spray water over the whole surface and the formation of foam does not take place.
Lubrication (4) failed. The nozzle is probably blocked. The corresponding conveyor
chain is running dry. Containers which slide over a dry conveyor chain are abruptly
braked.
2. Switch the SPECTRUM device off at the operating panel and turn the main switch to
the "O" OFF position. Secure it to prevent it being inadvertently switched on!

Direction of motion
Protruding edge due to the fact that the conveyor chain is higher in the
direction of motion
Incorrect
HBD647014 ENG Instandhaltungshandbuch DELTA-FW V8.00.000
Protruding edge due to foreign object below the conveyor chain (e.g. small
pieces of broken glass)
— when the lateral guide rails for curved chains are so worn that bolts or other metal
parts stick out
— when elongation is greater than 1 %.
1 chain link, as new = 38.1 mm
10 chain links, as new = 381 mm
Chain worn > 385 mm
The chain can climb onto the sprockets and cause other interference due to the fact that it
has been elongated.
