Dear Parent/Guardian,
WELCOME
A very warm welcome to all parents and guardians to our new academic year of 2022 second trem
in this new
normal. To our new parents /guardians we say welcome to our family here at Silver Side School, we
hope you will settle in well so that we grow together.
PUNCTUALITY
PRE – SCHOOL
Children are expected to report for school between 07:30hrs and 08:30hrs every day to
ensure they take part in the nursery rhymes, riddles and for assembly which starts at 08:30hrs.
PRIMARY
Children in primary are expected to report for school between 07:30hrs and 07:45hrs every day for
assembly which starts at 07:45hrs. Classes begin at exactly 08:00hrs. Parents are therefore urged to
ensure they drop off children on time.
Children in primary, who do not take part in aftercare, knock off at 14:30hrs on Monday and
Tuesday.
AFTERCARE
Aftercare runs from 13:00hrs to 15:30hrs Monday to Thursday. Friday school out is 12:30hrs for
pre – school and 14:30hrs for primary.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements are mandatory and must be brought at every beginning of each term to allow the
smooth run of the school.
School out on Wednesday and Thursday is 15:30hrs for all primary, this is to allow children to
take part in school activities which takes place on these specific days such as sports and clubs.
Children who are not in aftercare must be collected on time that is between 14:30hrs to 15:00hrs
and those in aftercare 15:30hrs to 16:00hrs, because there will be no staff supervision after the fore
said time.
Please note: any parent who collects a child/children after the fore said time is liable to pay a
sum of K20 per child.
TRUANCY
Children are expected to report from the very first day to the last day of school. Each and every
school day is planned for and teachers are always anxiously waiting for their leaners.
We therefore urge parents to ensure children attend school everyday. Parents will be held
accountable for any child who misses school without prior notification or any proof absence in case
the child is on sick leave.
UNIFORMS
Pupils are expected to report in proper uniform everyday. It is therefore the duty of the parents to
ensure children report to school as expected. The school will not condone children reporting in
torn, dirty or different kind of uniform (without school Logo). Uniform is available at the school for
purchase.
LIBRARY
Pupils in reception class and primary are given library books and reading records every week.
Please ensure that they are covered neatly in a plastic, signed and commented on. Do not scold,
shout or even teach. we expect you to just encourage and support them by giving them time and
signing reading cards thereafter. Just boost their morale and confidence and we will do the
teaching.
SCHOOL FEES
The due date of payments for term two (2) tuition fees was 9th May 2022. Those with outstanding
fees and balances for last term 2022 and those that have not yet settled for term two 2022 fees are
advised to settle their accounts without further delay. Failure to do so will prompt the school to
take action.
