It will be explained that sometimes, we think it’s okay to make jokes by calling others with a different name. We
sometimes forget that it might make others feel bad.
As God’s children, we can show our care for God’s gifts by trying our best to remember the names of our
friends, even when it is a bit hard to do. This is so that we can show our love for them.
C. Discussion
Pupils will then be asked if they know how to introduce themselves and talk about their age and gender.

Activity will be done by first showing the picture of the pupil on the screen/presentation. The group will then be
asked to say:
“Hello! What is your name?”
Pupils will then try to introduce themselves (if they are ready) in front of the camera by using the following
sentences:
“Hello! My name is ______. I am __ years old. I am a _____.”
Pupils will also be encouraged to listen carefully and try to recall the names of their classmates, their age and
their gender.
D. Generalization
We often start introducing ourselves by saying; “Hello! My name is ___ or I am _____”. We can say our name
and age.
E. Application

Pupils will be shown different pictures of their classmates and will be asked to say their friend’s names.

Materials:
- Piece of paper with big writing of the child’s first name
- Circle/square stickers in various colors
or
- if the sticker is not available, you may cut out the shapes using colored paper
- If not using stickers, glue is needed
Procedure:
1. Layout the piece of paper with the child’s name.
2. Using fingers, carefully trace the letters while naming and sounding out each letter
3. If using stickers, begin by peeling the stickers and carefully attaching them to the letters while following the
lines.
4. if cutouts, rub each piece of paper with glue before attaching to letters.

2. Name Puzzle
Materials can be ANY of the following:
- Lego, building blocks, cups, popsicle sticks, or any similar object that can be placed side by side
- Write/print on small sheets of paper the letters of the pupil’s name
- You may also include numbers (for age) and the word boy/girl for gender
Procedure:
- Attach the small papers (with letters/numbers) onto your chosen material (ex. Lego)
- Use the material to work on name spelling by asking the pupil to place the letters of his/her name
in the correct order.

Skill Variation
a. Begin with providing a copy of the child’s first name
b. Once a child has memorized the order, you may add a letter or 2 that is not included in the correct
spelling
c. After, you may begin to include the second name or last name.
d. Continue to make variations until the child can spell his / her complete name independently.
