Rationale
Before I started creative media: TV and film production I had very little knowledge on how
to make a piece of media look good and be engaging. From starting this course, I have learnt
how to use a camera to its potential for example setting the white balance and framing it
correctly. I also have learnt how to edit with premiere pro which I had never used before. I
have chosen to produce a short film because I feel this is the best way to display all the skills
I have learnt along the way since it incorporates audio, visuals and editing. Over the
previous 7 units I feel that my technical skills have improved drastically with making a wide
variety of production and I hope to carry this onto my year one FMP.  

Project concept
I have decided to make a fantasy short film for my project. Researching into other fantasy
worlds will help me to expand my own and making sure that it fits low budget will be a
challenge but achievable if I research how to do it correctly. I hope to produce a production
that is a form of escapism for the audience but leaves them uneasy with the atmosphere
that is created in my short film. Costume and makeup will be involved quite heavily in my
production which is what will help the fantasy world to be created with a low budget. Using
makeup allows fantasy to come to life which is what I hope it will achieve in my project. My
setting also may help to give the audience a feeling of an unreal world since the woods can
be made to look more magical with editing.

Evaluation
My work will be documented through the weekly blogs I produce. These blogs will help me
keep track of what parts of my work I have completed and also allow me to reflect on what I
have done and create aims for what I need to do. I will also be receiving teacher and peer
feedback which will help me to improve
