ABSTRACT

A well-suited job plays a very significant role in every person’s life. But
the effect of the outbreak of Coronavirus, on the world economy is
devastating. This causes serious consequences like mass unemployment
of the youths, raising the price of every commodity etc.

The market does not stay cold forever, now the businesses are lifting
up, so are the number of jobs. With the rising jobs, unemployed candidates
are making up leeway for assuring opportunities. This gives a significant
boost to the user base of the online Job portals.

A job portal is an online place where various companies post their


job vacancies so that the associated users can apply for them. These portals
are very useful for job seekers and help them to choose jobs of their
convictions. Portals like Indeed, LinkedIn, Monster.com,
and Naukri.com are some of the successful job searching portals in the
market.

Owning your own unique job portal comes with its own sets of
advantages and benefits. Creating a better quality and reliable job portal
will not only ensure your success but also provide higher ROI.

When it comes to the online job portal, it is one of the most


important jobs seeking tools for an unemployed person. Hiring the best job

INTRODUCTION

1.2 ABOUT PROJECT
In the Online Job portal system, we use PHP and MySQL database. This is the
project which keeps records of the employer, jobseeker, and administrator. The
online Job portal system has three modules i.e. Jobseeker, Employer and Admin.

Admin Modules
This module provides administrator related functionalities. The administrator manages
the entire application and maintains the profiles of applicants and employers.

Dashboard: In this section, admin can briefly view the total job category, total
employer, total candidates, and total job.

Job Category: In this section, admin can manage jobs (add/update/delete). Change
the status of jobs, like making them live on our portal, make then pending and even
reject the job application.

List of Employers: In this section, admin can view the list of employers and see the
detail of individual employers.

List of Jobseekers: In this section, admin can view the list of all jobseekers and see
the detail of individual jobseeker.

Search: In this section, admin can search a particular employer or candidates by


company name, email, mobile number, user id and skills respectively.
Admin can also update his profile, change the password, and recover the password.

Employer Module

This module provides functionalities related to employers. Employers can


post vacancy details and update the details as and when necessary.
Employers can search through applicant resumes and view their profiles
based on different criteria. They can also draft their jobs. Purchase our
featured plans and make the job stand out and rank.
Post Job: In this module, employer can post a job on our portal. They can
post a free job or can make them featured. After posting the job, the job is
sent to the admin for reviewing. If the job has no problem then the admin
make it live.

Edit Job: In this module, employer can edit his job on our portal. After
editing the job, employer is redirected to the buyPlans page, where he can
purchase feature plans to make his job rank or can even post it free without
purchasing plans.

Draft Job: At the time of creating a job, a user can anytime save his job as
draft. And we have created a functionality that saves the job automatically
and puts it in draft. If by any chance job is not fully submitted and page is
refreshed, the job data will not be lost.

Manage Jobs: In this module, Employer can see it’s posted jobs, can edit
them, delete them, etc. There is a button to see the candidates applied on
the particular job.

Manage Candidates: In this module, Employer can see the list of candidates
that has applied on his job. From the manage candidates page, employer can
shortlist an applicant, reject an applicant, mark candidate as favorite,
download resume of applicant, view profile of applicant. There are many
filters to search thorough the candidates list.
