Alternatives for Girls (AFG) recognizes the role social media plays in modern communication.
As such, we respect the right of employees to use social networks for self-publishing and self-expression
As an Alternatives for Girls employee/volunteer, we ask that you maintain professionalism and
uphold the current policies and mission in place, along with the following, when posting in reference to
I. Maintain confidentiality of program participants and their situation. This can include, but
is not limited to:
a. Listing the participants name in comments or captions
b. Posting the participants picture unless given permission
II. Sharing photographs or information of other employees/volunteers without their
permission is prohibited.
III. Any inquiries from potential participants must be directed to the appropriate department.
IV. Maintain neutrality when asked about the organization’s stance on the following issues;
a. Religion or religious beliefs
b. Political issues or candidates
c. Abortion
d. Sexual orientation
V. Sharing any organization-privileged information, including copyrighted information or
organization-issued documents, will not be tolerated.
VI. Any inquiries from the media or press must be directed to the appropriate party.
VII. Any complaints or negative feedback can be addressed, then directed to the appropriate
department.
VIII. Address that any personal views or actions are not those of the organization.
IX. Please refrain from posting inappropriate or unprofessional images or posts publicly,
including, but not limited to, the following;
a. Drugs or excessive alcohol use
b. Nudity or sexually suggestive behavior
c. Illegal activity
d. Obscene or discriminatory behavior or language

e. Racial/ethnic slurs or disparaging remarks/gestures
f. Complaints of work or fellow employees/volunteers
Alternatives for Girls understands the platform that social media gives individuals and respects
the use of social media by employees/volunteers. Any violations of the above can result in disciplinary
action.
