“How’s my Test Making?

Last semester, my Critic Teacher only let me make a lesson plan, activities, design the
virtual classroom and check outputs. She didn’t let us make the formative assessment nor the
graded quizzes. So, this semester it was my first time to make one and this week was scheduled
for the graded test. The last time we made a quiz was when we were second year student
under Sir Dela Rama and now I’m making it for her daughter’s class, Ma’am Agir. What a small
world indeed. It was quite a challenge making the test on the virtual classroom because we
need to screenshot the fractions from Microsoft Word to the VC, it was time consuming. We
made test about Fraction, Equivalent Fraction and Kinds of Fraction, so there are variety of
contents that should be made in the test. Our first attempt in making the items were a little
easy for a Grade four student. Our Critic Teacher reminded us to always vary the level of
difficulty of the questions. This is why student internship is important because it help us student
teacher to remember what we have discussed and apply it in real life situation.

The domain that I can relate this week would be, Domain 5 Assessment and Reporting.
The design, selection, organization and utilization of assessment strategies. The making of test
is very important because it shows if the learners are really learning and if they understand
really well what have been discussed these past few weeks. Also, the Bloom’s Taxonomy, the
learning hierarchical process where teachers should create the level of difficulty for the
students to learn higher thinking level skills. Example, I made word problems for the students to
think critically and analyzing the problem with the help of what they learned.

Then during our class discussion, we did a little game. I let them group into two groups,
boys vs girls. It was as if we were in an actual classroom, the kids got excited and motivated to
answer because if they lose, they would have to dance. It’s something what we miss in an
actual teaching experience. If only we could, we can have a lot more activities to do.
