Describe a live sport match that you have watched

1. What it was?
Well, I’m going to talk about The 2018 AFC U-23 Championship Final. This is a soccer
match was contested by Vietnam and Uzbekistan, the winners of the semi-finals.
2. When you watched it?
With regards to question that when I watched it, the tournament took place at the
Changzhou Olympic Sports Centre in Changzhou, China and the match I saw was held on
27 January 2018. Therefore, me and my family book a 3-hour flight to Changzhou
because of our passion for football.
3. What it was like?
Although it happened in spring, the weather was very bad and snowed day after day.
Firstly, we couldn’t see anything include football players so the organization committee
had to change the ball color from white to yellow. Secondly, there was a tough match so
that the Viet Nam national football team tried their best to draw. We hoped that if we had
had a penalty shoot-out, we would have won. But, unfortunately, Uzbekistan, who was a
strong competitor, kept pressing and we lost in final minute.
4. And how you felt about it?
In spite of not being the champion, not only me but also all the fan of football felt quite
emotional because Viet Nam hadn’t been far like that in any tournament before. We
would never forget that day, the day which a miracle was made.
Describe a leisure activity you like to do near or on the sea?
1. What it is?
My hometown is a coastal city so that I can go to the ocean easily. And the most leisure
activity I like is scuba diving. It is a great activity for anyone who want to have an
interesting time.
2. What you need to prepare?
Well, although I have dived for 2 years, I have to prepare very carefully before each trip.
The first time I dived, I need to be trained by my brother who is an expert at this sport. He
also advices me to check all equipment to make sure that the apparatuses have been
properly cleaned and maintained and I know how to use. Besides, I always plan my dive
accurately and to keep safe, participating in a group dive is my best choice.
3. How easy or difficult it is?
In my opinion, nothing is difficult, if you learn how to dive hard and practice it regularly,
your skill will be better and better.

4. And explain how you feel about it?

 Well, for me, scuba diving is wonderfully rewarding and exciting, but it is also
complicated and dangerous for the inexperienced. However, with the proper preparation,
you will have the time of your life. Scuba diving help me to not only reduce stress but
also discover marine world.
Describe a time when you tried to do something but was not very successful
1. When it was?
Well, I’m going to talk about a time that I had prepared for my entrance university exam
in 2021. As you know, the exam is very important because the score students get in this
contest will decide they can study at their favorite university or not.
2. What you tried?
At the beginning, my prior subjects were Math, Physics and Chemistry, which was very
hard to learn because there are a lot of formulas to remember. Therefore, I tried to learn
all formulas by heart. Then, I did a mini test every day so that I not only get used to exam
pressure but also revise what I had been learning before.
3. Why it was not very successful?
Now concerning that why it was not very successful, I think that the reasons belong to
me. Although I could remember all formulas, I actually didn’t know how to use it because
the fact that I spent time on theory rather than exam questions. And as I told, I did do
many tests but I hadn’t never checked to find where I was wrong.
4. And how you felt about it?
Finally, the result wasn’t as I expected. I regretted not doing everything I could. But after
being mobilized by family and my friends, I think through this experience I learnt the
importance of studying effectively.
Describe a class you remember taking at high school?
1. What the class was?
My high school was famous for organizing many interesting class. And I’m going to talk
about Chinese class which I took in order to learn one of my favorite languages
2. What the class was about?
I’m not sure what happened but at the beginning, the class involved memorizing basic
vocabulary and students could also learn how to write Chinese characters. After that, to
speak fluently participants had to do some Chinese conversation practices based on every
day topics. We sometimes had test and those who got the highest grades would receive a
gift.
3. Who taught the class?
Well, if my memory served me right, the teacher who took over our class is Mr. Nam. We
admired him so much not only because his knowledge of Chinese but also he was a kind
and patient teacher. He helped us a lot to learn Chinese – a language which is very
different with Vietnamese.
 4. What you remember most about attending this class?
We sometimes had test and those who got the highest grades would receive a gift.
Therefore, the most memorable moment I remembered is when I went number one in the
exam. Our teacher – Mr. Nam was in a good mood, he honored me in the class and gave
me a financial bonus.
Describe an important decision you might have to make in the future
1. What the decision is?
Well, I’m going to describe my decision to learn how to play the guitar in the future
2. How you will make your decision?
Well, the first thing I’d like to mention is I have studied at college and university seem
strange for me so I have to get used to learning by a new way or fighting with deadline, I
may have no time to play the guitar right now. But, I have 3-month summer vacation so
that summer will be perfect time to make my decision.
3. What the results of the decision are likely to be?
Going on to what the results of the decision are likely to be, what I would like to mention
here is that I think I will be a good player. Absolutely I will spend all the time learning it
because for me, playing guitar is not only a leisure activity but also my dream
4. Why this decision is so important?
Finally, the reason why this decision is so important is that I have huge passion for guitar,
actually I want to become a successful artist some day. If I have a chance, I will organize
a concert around the world so that I can show my talent and the power of music
Describe an important challenge that you had to overcome in the past
1. What the challenge was?
Well, I’d like to talk about my challenge is to gain 1.000.000 VND by myself for 1 month
2. Why you had this challenge?
Well, with regards to the question why I had this challenge, I’d like to mention is there
are my family tradition. Each member in my family has to overcome this challenge when
they are eighteen.
3. Who helped you face this challenge?
Well, because I had no experience about making money, obviously my big brother helped
me cope with this challenge. My big brother earned 3.000.000 VND which is three times
as much as the target for just 1 month. He is not only an excellent person but also a
trustworthy brother.
4. How you overcame this challenge?
At the beginning, I felt so nervous but my brother mobilized me a lot. We find that the
best way to make money is applying for a job. Therefore, I searched for part-time job in
 the internet. After spending days searching, I saw the advertisement of a coffee store
which wanted to recruit barista. It was a hard time for me but I tried my best to finish the
job well. Finally, I got the first salary of 2.000.000 and overcame my family challenge.
Overall, it was a rewarding experience and I learnt a lot.
Describe an interesting talk or speech you heard recently
1. Who the speaker was?
Well, I’m going to talk about a brilliant presentation with student in my high school. The
speech, which was about LGBT+ community, was spoken by an orator – Mr. John.
Although Mr. John admitted that he was a gay, he was self-confident to talk to us.
2. Where and when you heard it?
It was a beautiful and sunny morning that all the student moved to the schoolyard. And
we saw Mr. John stood at the stage center with twinkle smile and dancing eyes
3. What it was about?
The presentation brought a lot of information about LGBT. If my memory served me
right, LGBT+ stand for Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and the ‘+’ denotes all other
identities that fall into the queer umbrella. We also see how the queer community often
faces derogatory and hateful statements by society on the daily
4. Why you found it interesting?
Well, my high school was very famous for organizing many speeches about education,
sex and so on but we hadn’t never heard about LGBT before. I found that this speech
aims to educate audiences about the different terms of the queer community and spread
the idea—everyone is beautiful and all deserve to love and be loved. So that, we seem to
know more about LGBT to understand people of third gender.
