News: Shooting at Texas, Robb Elementary School- (May 25, 2022)

-A teenage gunman killed at least 19 young children and two teachers at an

elementary school in Texas on Tuesday, prompting a furious President Joe Biden
to denounce the US gun lobby and vow to end the nation's mass shootings. The
attack in Uvalde — a small community about an hour from the Mexican border —
was the deadliest US school shooting in years and the latest in a spree of bloody
gun violence across America. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, addressing an earlier news
conference, named the suspect as Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old local resident,
and a US citizen. Texas Department of Public Safety officials told CNN the
gunman is believed to have shot his grandmother before heading to Robb
Elementary School around noon where he abandoned his vehicle and entered
with a handgun and a rifle, wearing body armor. The gunman was killed by
responding officers, the officials said, adding later two teachers also died in the
attack.
REFLECTION:
-This incident is very heartbreaking knowing that there are innocent children
and people who lose their lives just because of the wrong action of one man,
and what’s sadder is that the identified suspect is still 18 years old, killing first
his grandmother before heading to school for his next target. This child must
have a serious problem that causes violence towards his victims. Every action
has a consequence, and this young boy who killed innocent people will pay for
his actions. He died as a result of his actions. Therefore, in making a decision,
we must know ahead of time the possibilities of our own actions and always
choose the good things. Love one another as the Bible instructs us to do and
obey God's commands.
6th Commandment: Thou shall not kill.
News: Police: Woman killed man who fired a rifle into party crowd-

(May 26, 2022)

-CHARLESTON, W.Va.- A woman
in West Virginia fatally shot a man who began
firing an AR-15-style rifle into a crowd of people that had gathered for a party,
authorities said. Dennis Butler, 37, was killed Wednesday night after he pulled out
the rifle and began shooting at dozens of people attending the birthday-
graduation party outside an apartment complex in the city of Charleston, police
said in a statement. The woman, who was attending the party, drew a pistol and
fired, killing Butler, the statement said. No one at the party was injured. “Instead
of running from the threat, she engaged with the threat and saved several lives
last night,” Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett told news outlets Thursday. Butler
was at the apartment complex earlier in the evening in a vehicle and had been
warned to slow down because children were playing, police said. They said he left,
but returned later, parked in front of the complex, and began firing. After fatally
shooting Butler, the woman waited along with several witnesses for police to
arrive, and all have cooperated with the investigation, authorities said. Hazelett
said no charges would be filed against the woman.
REFLECTION:
-Killing has always been considered morally wrong. It is wrong because anyone has no
right to end one’s life. There are many reasons why a person would kill another person,
but the act itself is already wrong no matter what the reason is, especially if it is a crime.
This attack of the butler cannot be tolerated because the people at the party are just
having fun and he starts firing at random people, but despite the incident, there are
also people who are willing to sacrifice their life for the sake of others, just like the
woman who engaged with the threat instead of running away. She saved the lives of
other people, and they were happy to know that nobody at the party was killed or
injured. The woman showed no fear, which is a good example to others because
sometimes we need to help others and not just think of ourselves. Just like what I shared
lately, every action has a corresponding consequence, so we must be aware and
knowledgeable enough to know what is the right thing to do.
7th Commandment: Thou shall not commit adultery.
News: Indiana pastor admits ‘adultery,’ woman says she was just 16 years old:

'I was a prisoner'- (May 24, 2022)

-A church pastor told his Indiana congregation that he had committed “adultery” about
20 years ago, a disclosure that was followed moments later by a woman who stepped
forward and said she was victimized by him when she was 16 years old. The remarks were
recorded on video Sunday at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach in Warsaw
and posted on Facebook. The Kosciusko County prosecutor’s office is investigating. Pastor
John Lowe II told his congregation: “I committed adultery.” He says he had sex with the
woman when she was a teenager. "It was nearly 20 years ago," he says. I have no
defense. The congregation gives him a standing ovation, but then a woman walked up to
the microphone with her story. “It was 27 years ago, not 20. I was just 16 when you took
my virginity on your office floor. Do you remember that? I know you do,” she said. She
said the "lies and the manipulation have to stop." “I was a prisoner, and you kept me in
your prison,” she said as Lowe stood near. “I'm a prisoner no longer.” Some people then
shouted questions at Lowe. The he said, “It was wrong. I can’t make it right,” A few dozen
people walked up to encircle and support him as another man led a prayer. Lowe told
the congregation that he was stepping down from his role as pastor. The church's phone
was unanswered Monday afternoon, but the church later released a statement confirming
Lowe had resigned as of Monday. The Associated Press left a voicemail message for
Lowe seeking comment.
REFLECTION:
-Everyone struggles from a sin. Just like the pastor who, also did the same
thing. When he admitted courageously that he committed adultery, of course,
the crowd had their reaction about his say. Some accept and understand him
but this woman who was the victim gave her to say which is the truth, and
from there, people threw questions to the pastor and that all he did was to
admit and ask forgiveness to all and especially to the woman. He may not
make it right, but the important thing is how sincere and sorry he was.
Adultery is a moral disaster. It brings ruin to reputations, but if he repents, can
and should be restored to fellowship within the church. Even if we commit
grievous sin, if we have the courage and sincerity to be sorry for our sins, God
will forgive us.
7th Commandment: Thou shall not commit adultery.
News: Zeinab Harake Confirms Split with Skusta Clee Due to His Infidelity-

(May 11, 2022)

-After months of fans speculating that popular vlogger Zeinab Harake has parted
ways with rapper Skusta Clee, with whom she shares a daughter, Zeinab has finally
broken her silence and confirmed that the rumors were true. She revealed that the
strain in their relationship began in March when Skusta Clee was increasingly
becoming distant from her and choosing to live separately from her and their baby
Bia, even as Zeinab was going through a difficult pregnancy with her son, Moon,
whom she had lost through a miscarriage in April. It was then that Zeinab opened up
about seeing private messages that Skusta Clee was having with another woman
when she checked his laptop—messages wherein Skusta Clee was allegedly asking the
other woman out. When she confronted him about it, he simply denied the accusation.
Skusta Clee eventually admitted to everything in what Zeinab described as a “brutal”
confession. She said that Skusta Clee’s reasoning behind his infidelity was that she
had “changed” ever since she gave birth to their daughter, to which Zeinab agreed
but expressed that it was because she wanted to prioritize her family. She also stood
firm that Skusta Clee can be the only one to blame as he was the one who had been
unfaithful.
REFLECTION:
-For some people, cheating in a relationship becomes a habit, and when this becomes
a habit, things will get into trouble, just like what Skusta did to her partner, Zeinab.
He again did what people don’t like, which is cheating. And his reason behind his
infidelity was that Zeinab changed, of course, when a couple is already in the stage of
responsibility, which is prioritizing a family, things will eventually change, the partner
as well. And this is one important thing people should know that a person will change
when one knows it is for the better, but when the other one is still the same just
thinking of themselves, they better put in their minds that they are no longer a
teenager but an adult who has responsibility in their family. If Skusta truly loves
Zeinab, he will be a man to his partner and will avoid the never again so-called
“cheating”. So, when you are in this stage, avoid not to get tempted by things, but
rather be committed to your partner and with the family that you built-in.
8th Commandment: Thou shall not steal.
News: Police Authorities Arrest Male Thief After Stealing Laptop- (May 26, 2022)

-ROBBERY INCIDENT – The police authorities have arrested a male thief for
stealing a laptop with the help of “Find My app”. Modern technology becomes one
of the keys to locate and arrest the “basag-kotse” suspect who stole a laptop in
Antipolo. The cops refer to the particular technology such as CCTV and GPS of the
stolen laptop. The CCTV footage in Antipolo caught the illegal activity of the
suspects. The suspect breaks the window of an SUV parked in front of a parlor in
the area. The theives stole the laptop and immediately escaped. Luckily, the laptop
owner was able to trace the location of his laptop through “Find My app”. The
CCTV footage in Tayuman, Manila caught one of the suspects trying to sell the
stolen gadget. The victim recognized the device and immediately reported it to the
police authorities. PCP Commander of Tayuman cooperates with Antipolo chief to
launch a joint follow-up operation to arrest the suspect. Antipolo PNP conduct
backtracking while Tayuman PCP surveyed and monitored the suspect’s “ping
location”. The police operatives launch the raid after the ‘Ping’ location stopped.
The police officers also believe that the suspect tried to sell the laptop every time
that ‘ping’ stops at various locations. The authorities also advised the public to take
advantage of the security features.
REFLECTION:
-Nowadays, especially those people who are very interested in gadgets and want one
or they are dying to have one, just like in the case of the male thief who had to break
the window of an SUV in order to do the act of stealing a laptop, of course, for some
reason, but luckily, with the help of this particular technology, CCTV and the "Find My
App", they were able to locate and arrest the thief. Whatever crime a person does, it
may not be right after the act or incident that a problem can be solved, but it will
always happen that a person can be caught because there is no such illegal act or
bad thing that can just be kept from them; the truth will always come out. So, it's
better for all of us, not just one person, but everyone, to choose to not engage in this
kind of activity but rather to choose to do good things even with the things we don’t
have and also to take advantage of our security always.
8th Commandment: Thou shall not steal.
News: Two water meter thieves nabbed in Cebu City- (May 22, 2022)

-CEBU CITY, Philippines — Two suspected thieves were caught in the act of stealing water meters of
the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) in Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City on the early
morning of May 21 and May 22 or during the weekend. Police Senior Master Sergeant Rene
Remedios, desk officer of the Sawang Calero Police Station, said that Adrian Fortes Morris, 25, of
Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City, and Rodrigo Berdiflor, 18, of Barangay Guadalupe Cebu City
were allegedly caught in the act of stealing water meters during separate police roving patrols in
Barangay San Nicolas. First, to fall was Morris, who was with a companion were caught trying to
detach a water meter while police were on patrol in Tres de Abril St. at past 3 a.m. on Saturday, May
21. Investigation showed that Morris and his companion were trying to detach a water meter from the
pipeline using a wrench when the police patrolling the area chanced upon them. The policemen
arrested Morris, who was then holding the detached water meter but his companion managed to
escape when he ran into a residential area. Police searched the area but they could not find Morris’
cohort. Next to fall was Berdiflor, who was caught with a water meter in the same area where Morris
was arrested. Investigation showed that Sawang Calero policemen were on patrol along Tres de Abril
St. at 2:20 a.m. today, May 22, when they chanced upon Berdiflor and another man, who was believed
to be his cohort. Berdiflor was allegedly carrying the water meter when he was arrested. Berdiflor later
told police the identity of his companion, whom police identified as John Luke Abellanosa, 20, who
remained at large as of this posting. The two suspects were detained at the Sawang Calero Police
Station pending the filing of formal complaints of theft against them.
REFLECTION:

-What these two thieves did was steal water meters, which is very wrong. And I
think there is always a reason why people do things like this. It may be
because they need it for money or because they are too desperate to get
what they want. But in this way getting what they want, is not really the right
thing to do, especially since it is a major crime. Sometimes in life, we tend to
put the things we need and want together in a way that we do the wrong way.
Which is instead, the right thing to do in order to get what we want and/or
need is to do what is right, which is to work hard on it, not by stealing on the
other side of life.
