My idea
Christopher Crook

For my final major project, I want to create a shot

psychological thriller which embeds dramatic irony
throughout, to create tension within the audience. My story
follows a mother who lost her child in an accident 5 years
prior. Following one night, she has a horrific nightmare,
where she is playing hide and seek with her son. During the
game, she counts to ten before looking for her child.
Thinking she's close, she opens the cupboard finding that
her child has disappeared into thin air. As she panics, the
audience is subtly hinted of the reality of the scenario,
through props and indifferences in the house where her
brain has filled in the blanks of her dream. As the audience
is unaware she lost her child prior to the end, this will force
the audience to make questions in their head, wondering
whether it's real, or not.

Target audience
My production will be aimed at those aged from 16-24.
Although, this can be enjoyed at any ages above 16, the
most common genre within 16-24 is psychological thriller,
therefore by aiming it towards this age, I will reach the
largest audience base possible. In addition, showing this
production to anyone under this age may be
considered unethical, and not suitable.
