Name of Campaign:

‘A Healthy Me is Drug Free’, by RaiseAwareness.eg

Purpose of the Campaign:

This is an anti-drug campaign that is created to raise awareness about the spread of drug

addiction in Egypt. Drug abuse in Egypt is a tremendous issue and one that, unfortunately, isn’t

talked about enough. The percentage of drug use is increasing rapidly. National Addiction

Research Study revealed the frequency of drug use to be approximately 33% in Cairo. That

percentage is immensely higher than what it was in early 2018; which was 10% of the population

or about 9.6 million people. That number is colossal if compared to the number of drug users in

2007. The number of citizens suffering from substance abuse in 2007 was between 600,000 and

800,00. In a decade, the number of drug users has increased by millions and now it has increased

even more. Most people aren’t aware of the severity of the situation and the risks that are getting

higher by the minute. The aim behind this campaign is to raise awareness about the dangers of

drug abuse and how it's vastly spreading, especially in adolescents. The target audience behind

this campaign are adolescents and young adults, ages 17 to 25 to be exact.

With the use of various social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, we will be able to

reach the targeted audience. We will use the mentioned platforms, as well as numerous others, to

present to the target audience helpful information regarding the dangers of substance use in the

form of advertisements, photos, and videos. The use of social media is extremely important for

our campaign because it will be the easiest way to reach out to younger generations, which are

our target audience. We will also work on sending members from the campaign to schools all

around Egypt to engage with adolescents and inform them of the issue, the risks that come with

it, and how to avoid the temptation.

We have partnered up with Narconon Egypt with the common goal of trying to minimize the

escalating spread of substance abuse. Narconon is an international drug and alcohol

rehabilitation program that has been saving lives for over 50 years now. Hopefully with the help

of Narconon, we will be able to bring attention to the global problem that is rapidly increasing in

Egypt. This partnership will also raise awareness about rehabilitation centers and treatments for

drug addiction that some people might not be aware are available.

The logo of our campaign is designed to grab the attention of the targeted audience. Our logo is

an open palm that is reaching out holding drugs with a stop sign around the hand. The meaning

behind the logo is to avoid the tragedy of taking drugs that may be easily accessible or tempting.

Our slogan, “A Healthy Me is Drug Free”, was created to be short and easy to remember so the

audience could easily recall our campaign and the message behind it.

Together we can stop the spread of substance use and lessen the percentage of drug addiction in

Egypt.

Egypt’s Drug addiction Awareness Campaign

CAIRO, EGYPT – Your life matters to us. Raise Awareness.eg along with Narconon introduce
their first campaign together to raise awareness about drug addiction. First TV Campaign,
released on Friday, May 27, 2022. You can watch it live streaming on Facebook and Twitter.
Watch it on YouTube, Tiktok, and Instagram and leave a comment with your feedback and how
you felt watching it,

A 30 second ad Campaign will be released at 10 PM, it aims to raise awareness and show how
dangerous drug addiction is.

Millions of people all around the world have overcome drug addiction and continue to live a
healthy and happy life, fulfilling all their dreams and making them come to life. If you’re
struggling with your own addiction, following these tips for recovery and following this
campaign can help you identify healthy routines.

Addiction to drugs is a serious problem with far-reaching consequences for the society as a
whole. It's critical to understand the risks of drug use so that we can make educated decisions
about whether or not to take them. To prevent drug addiction, we can do a variety of things,
including educating ourselves as well as our children, creating healthy surroundings, and
providing help and services to those who need it.

We can also work to improve our communities by giving people more opportunities to be active
in the community. We can significantly decrease the risk of drug addiction in our society and
make our society a safer place.

This campaign does not only talk to drug addicts, it talks to each and every person of us. We are
all responsible for ourselves and for others around us. Continue raising awareness with us. We
encourage you to interact with us and tell us your story.
