Zefanya’s Personal Statement

Product design has always fascinated me, therefore I decided to pursue as a

product designer. I want to continue my studies to gain a better understanding of
product design. I took my diploma degree from UIC College BSD, majoring in graphic
design. I was interested in branding and product design.

During that time, I have also participated in the student union and I became one of
the creative team. When I was in the student union I gained more knowledge about
creating social media feeds and layouting posters. I have also collaborated with
Pesawaran Lampung to create a home decor product by employing their traditional
fabric, and I also gained more knowledge from this collaboration with Pesawaran
Lampung about understanding more about the culture and to create a product. The
experience in student union and collaboration with Pesawaran Lampung helped me
to communicate with my teammates, develop teamwork skills, think outside the box
and contribute to teamwork. Through my experience during my academic and
student union, I have gained skill in conceptual thinking, branding, layouting a
poster and magazine, website design and product design.

Recently I've been interested in creating a product and having my own brand. My
brand is called Sylve, it’s a local scented candle brand that I created with my partner.
We want to develop our local brand globally. And I look forward to the opportunity to
develop our brand widely.

To gain a deeper understanding about product design, I want to take my bachelor

degree in London to continue my studies and to reach my goal as a product
designer. Actually I still don’t know which universities that I want to enroll in but I
hope the universities that enroll in later can be the path to reach my goal . By
enrolling in one of the universities in London, I hope I can be a successful product
designer and have a brand that is successful from national to international. I hope
being one of the students in one of the universities in London could be a part of
making my dreams come true.
