Report on Students’ Convention & Vivekananda Sobha Yatra

125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Historical Chicago Addresses
at Parliament of Religions

Namaste. In commemoration of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Historical

Chicago Addresses at Parliament of Religions, a full day Students’ Convention was
conducted on 11th September 2018 at Vivekananda Vidya Vihar, Ramakrishna Mission,
Sitanangaram. Nearly 500 students from various schools participated in this Students’
Convention.

Swami Sashikantanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada, Swami

Sevyananda, Swami Sannivasananda and Swami Yatidharmananda of Ramakrishna
Mission, Vijayawada addressed the students. Padmasri Turlapati Kutumbarao was
invited for the convention as chief guest. However, he could not attend for the same
due to health reasons. An animation film named ‘Sound of Joy’ and some motivational
videos have been shown to the students. Telugu books named ‘Vijayaniki Margam’
(Way to Success) containing Swami Vivekananda’s teachings were distributed to
them. Lunch was provided to all the participants.

“Vivekananda Sobha Yatra”, a procession was organized in Sitanagaram village. The

procession was started with the blowing of conch shell at 3:30 pm. Nearly 500 students
of Ramakrishna Mission High School participated in this procession. Participants
actively involved both in the meeting and procession.
