 3/8" Drive Ratchet
 T-30 Torx Bit

I. Valve Body Removal
0. Disconnect the trans
connector from the trans!!
1.5. Pop out fill-level tube
to drain more completely.
No point! -the gear
selector appears to be
grooved to allow removal
(when in park!)
-You may have to slide
and maneuver around to
clear things on removal. I
was able to remove the
VB this way without any
damage, and was able to
put it back in this way
also.
Remove corner bolts first, loosen middle
bolts and let the pan sit on these bolts
and tip the pan toward the rear to drain
remaining oil.
1. Drain Transmission Fluid using a 6mm socket
2. Remove Transmission Pan using an E10 bit. Keep pan level as it will still
have fluid in it. Once it has been removed, dump fluid into proper
container and discard original Transmission Pan Gasket -New aluminum bolts reqd.
3. Remove Transmission Oil Filter by gently pulling it off of the valve body.
Discard used Transmission Oil Filter
4. Remove Valve Body Bolts using a T30 bit and extend gear selector linkage
towards rear of transmission -10 bolts total, 4 at front, 6 at rear
When removing bolts, loosen the two
bolts indicated in blue (one at the front
and one at the back) but leave them
threaded in 5 or 6 threads. You can
wiggle the valve body down so it will
sit on these two bolts. This is to help
you not torque and break the
conductor plate's connector poking
out of the top of the flange on the
transmission. I presoaked my
connector o-rings with WD-40 a few
hours before so there was less
chance of it sticking and not coming
out.
Manually extend gear selector
linkage in direction indicated
by the blue arrow (Towards
rear of transmission)

5. Gently Press on the Valve Body Harness Connection as shown below
while slowly removing Valve Body. IF CARE IS NOT TAKEN IN THIS STEP
THE VALVE BODY MAY BE DAMAGED AND MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED

6. Properly Package Valve Body to prevent damage from shipment

7. Ship Valve Body to Weistec Engineering for modification

II. Valve Body Installation

1. Lubricate O-Rings on Valve Body Harness Connection

2. Gently press Valve Body into place

3. Make sure Shift Linkage Pin is properly inserted into Plastic Linkage

4. Bolt in valve body using a T30 bit, torque to 7nm

5. Press on New Transmission Oil Filter

6. Affix New Transmission Pan Gasket
7. Bolt on Transmission Pan using an E10 bit
8. Fill transmission with new fluid using proper Mercedes procedure. Expect to
use 5 to 6 liters of fluid.
