OLA
INTRODUCTION

Ola is a name that needs no introduction. Ola, India's first cab aggregator startup,
has made getting a cab a breeze. Ola, formerly known as Ola Cabs and owned
by ANI Technologies Pvt. Ltd., was founded in December 2010 by two IIT
Bombay graduates. Ola is a service that connects cab drivers and commuters.
Ola partners with a number of taxi drivers and owners and adds a touch of
modern technology to the overall setup rather than buying and renting out its own
cars. This allows users to book cabs on the go using Ola's app. Ola is India's
own ride-hailing app, with a market share of just under 50% (according to Uber's
2020 projection). It has over 250 cities in India as users and employs over 2.5
million driver-partners.
Ola is dedicated to its purpose of creating mobility for a billion people, which is
driven by a hyperlocal strategy. Ola has recently entered the auto and bike
booking business, staying true to its objective. In 2017, Ola launched a 'Ola
Pedal' bicycle-sharing service to help with last-mile connectivity.

'Ola' is a name that practically everyone is familiar with, therefore there is no

need to introduce it. Several people's problems have been solved by this
company. There are some folks who do not possess a vehicle or have only one
vehicle in their home. As voyaging is a part of everyday life in India, individuals
have had to deal with a lot of hardships in the past. There are certain individuals
who dislike taking public transportation such as buses or cars because of the
crowds, safety concerns, and other factors. Ola Cab is also the finest option for
travel if you are not a resident of a given city.

4
As a result, the two IIT students who had this dilemma went through it
in detail and eventually solved the problem by introducing the Ola
cab, as follows:
Ola cab is the first cab service in India that has made getting a cab a
pleasurable experience.
It was first presented in 2010, and because of its low pricing, people
began to appreciate its services.
Ola is India's domestic ride-hailing service, with a 60 percent market
share (as of 2014) with clients in 100 locations across the country, as
well as 15 lakh driver-accomplices.
FOUNDERS:
Ola was founded by Bhavish Aggarwal and co-founded by Ankit
Bhati. Ola was launched in Mumbai in the year 2010. Bhavish
graduated with a B. Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay in
2008. He also worked for Microsoft Research in Bangalore for two
years. His net worth is Rs. 3135 crores, according to figures from
December 2019, which includes revenue from Ola Cabs. His true net
worth, however, is unknown.
Ankit Bhati, the project's co-founder, joined Bhavish in November
2010. As Chief Technology Officer, he is in charge of the technology
aspects of the company. He holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical
Engineering and an M. Tech. in CAD & Automation from IIT Bombay.
They became India's Youngest Billionaire at a very young age. They
started their company while they were only 25 and 26 years old. Their
great ideas and perseverance are now benefiting a large number of
travellers.
By 2014, OLA has a network of 200,000 vehicles spread over 100
cities around the country. OLA is a dominant force in the Indian
industry, accepting over 150,000 bookings every day. Bhavish's keen
judgement is credited with a large part of Ola's success.

HOW DID IT ALL BEGUN

Bhavish Aggarwal's anguish point has resulted in the creation of Ola Cabs. He
was deserted in the middle of his travel from Bangalore to Bandipur by the driver.
The answer is that he was unwilling to renegotiate the driver's previously agreed
remuneration. This powerless feeling prompted him to consider how he could
pioneer a useful and pleasurable cab service. Finally, in December 2010, he and
co-founder Ankit Bhati put the finishing touches on their vision.
Ola is derived from the Spanish word "Hola," which means "Hello." As a result,
the proprietors wish to convey that their services are simple and pleasant.
Bhavish and Ankit were assisted by a number of people in completing their
dream project.
The product manager, Usha Loutongbam, assisted Bhavish with the design and
vision. Two other people contributed to the success of this project. Ajinkya Potdar
built the first Android version, and Kushal Bokadye created the iOS version.

CUSTOMER ACQUISITION AND CONSOLIDATION.

OLA has also entered three international business sectors: Australia, New
Zealand, and the United Kingdom. As a result, it has put up initiatives in seven
6
cities across Australia. It also claims to have enlisted 41,000 drivers on its
application in that country. OLA began its efforts in the United Kingdom in March
2019 with the introduction of Auto Rickshaws. As a result, Ola cabs has gained
five additional corporations to date. It had previously acquired Food Panda India.
Additionally, in June 2015, Geotag, an expedition planning tool, was launched.
With a market share of over 65 percent in India, OLA is the most well-known ride-
hailing app. By 2018, the organization has grown to over 10,000 automobiles in
168 cities, with a revenue of 110 million dollars.
Ola, as we all know, is an Indian firm that was backed by Chinese investors.
Tencent Holdings, Steadview Capital, Eternal Yield International Ltd, and the
China-Eurasian Economic Co-operation Fund, for example, have a $500 million
investment.

7
As we all know, there was a challenge that any successful brand or even
successful person had to overcome in the beginning. As a result, the same thing
happened in this scenario.

Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, the inventors, had to overcome numerous
challenges at first.

They worked long hours, and sometimes Ola Ankit's co-founder had to code for
48 hours straight.

They've even had to transport clients to their destinations since the drivers hadn't
arrived. This, however, did not dampen their spirits. They worked all hours of the
day and night, and eventually, people began to appreciate their efforts.
Nonetheless, in 2012, they were faced with a task that was a nightmare for the
founders. They were having issues with a website blunder. Ankit was in
Bangalore at the time, and Bhavish was in Mumbai. Ankit had no choice but to
guide Bhavish on call throughout the night as he dealt with the Mumbai outage.
However, due to their success and diligence, they were able to perfectly escape
the situation. They then chose to relocate their office from Mumbai to Bangalore.
They released their mobile application the same year.

COMPETITORS
Ola competes directly with Uber, and now Rapido is giving Ola a run for its
money in the bike segment. Meru Cabs Company Pvt. Ltd., which owns Meru
Cabs, Carzonrent (India) Pvt. Ltd., which controls Carzonrent, and Zoomcar India
Private. Ltd., which acquires Zoomcar, are all competitors in India.
In 2016, Ola faced a vengeful competition in the form of TaxiForSure, an
indigenous cab aggregation firm. Ola gained TaxiForSure and used it to her
advantage.
Ola has been expanding its service offerings over the course of the last year. It
began by offering a variety of trip options ranging from budget to luxury, as well
as membership discounts and in-vehicle entertainment. They don't just provide
taxi services; they also provide motorbikes and Auto Rickshaws at reasonable
rates. They also provide the option of sharing a cab.
CONCLUDING
In conclusion, we can claim that by launching the Ola cab initiative, Bhavish
Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati have aided a large number of people. The Ola app is
simple to use; only one click and the driver will be at your destination in a short
period of time. There is no need to be concerned about parking or anything else
when travelling with Ola.

8
Ola is affordable, and customers who don't want to travel by car can have their
wish granted by offering a car ride. They, too, are expanding their capabilities.
They now provide a bike rental service, which is quite convenient for persons
who want to ride alone or in a hurry and avoid traffic.

CHANEL

10
INTRODUCTION

Despite the fact that Gabrielle Chanel died 50 years ago, her
namesake fashion brand continues to thrive. Discover the tale of this
ageless company — and its legendary creator – from humble
beginnings on Rue Cambon to huge global success.
The business front at 21 Rue Cambon in Paris is unassuming, with
only two windows facing a narrow, gloomy lane. One of the most
famous tales in French fashion history begins here, just a short walk
from the magnificent Place Vendôme. Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, then
27 years old, founded her first independent boutique on these
premises in 1910. Harper's Bazaar said just five years later that "the
woman who hasn't at least one Chanel is hopelessly out of fashion...
The word Chanel is on everyone's lips this season."

Today, Chanel is a global fashion powerhouse with 310 stores,

20,000 employees, and a long list of high-profile clients ranging from
Jackie Kennedy to Marilyn Monroe, as well as Pharrell Williams,
Keira Knightley, and Audrey Tautou. The house's haute couture and
prêt-à-porter collections are complemented by eyewear, fragrance,
cosmetics, jewellery, and watch lines.

Gabrielle's impoverished beginnings are a long cry from the

worldwide empire - a background she would alternatively conceal or
expand for dramatic effect. The designer grew up in a crammed one-
room dwelling with five siblings after being born in a poorhouse
hospice. The boys were forced to work in the fields after their mother
died at the age of 32, while the girls were taken to a Catholic
orphanage.

Gabrielle learned embroidery from the nuns, as well as a disdain for

the cloistered existence. Chanel's early designs were defined by
flexible usefulness, reinterpreting the ease and pragmatism of the
male wardrobe to fit the modern woman, as a self-styled androgyny.
Her outfits spelled the end of the Belle Époque's structured corset-
and-bodice silhouette, ushering in a new era of elegance centered on
a natural and relaxed pose, subtle grace, and freedom of movement.

11
12
To further liberate her wearers from stereotypical femininity, Chanel selected typically male
colours like as grey and navy blue. Riding, horseracing, and yachting were all sources of
inspiration for the collection's designs and textiles. The striped pullovers and crewneck sweaters
worn by sailors and fishermen made their way onto the rich shoulders of the Parisian beau
monde due to Chanel.

Chanel's commitment to modern femininity was mirrored in her own independence, tenacity, and
financial savvy. She never married and interacted with men of social, artistic, and financial power,
including polo player Arthur Edward Capel, poet Pierre Reverdy, Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich of
Russia, and designer Paul Iribe.

Chanel's business prospered. Gabrielle owned five properties on Rue Cambon by 1927. Her first
perfume, Chanel No. 5, was an instant hit, hitting the aromatic sweet spot between floral
essences and the demi-musky monde's and jasmine overtones.

Chanel's reintroduction collection in 1954 was regarded with skepticism from French critics, but
praise from the American and British press. Chanel expanded into jewellery, handbags, and a
booming scent line during the 1950s.
Chanel became "old hat" following Coco Chanel's death in 1971, according to Karl Lagerfeld.
"Only the women of Parisian doctors wore it," he would recall. In 1983, Lagerfeld took over as
chief designer, bringing a successful rejuvenation formula with him. Under Lagerfeld's direction,
the company reintroduced classic Chanel features like as the Double-C motif, chains, tweed, and
costume jewellery, but with a modern material and formal touch. With the purchase of 12
specialized ateliers in embroidery, shoemaking, and fabric flower making, the House of Chanel
became the patron saint of haute couture workmanship.

13
14
Lagerfeld built his own image, much like Gabrielle Chanel before him, with his
extravagant white coiffure, sunglasses, fingerless gloves, and companion cat,
Choupette.
The Chanel fashion show, too, became known for its memorable spectacle.
Lagerfeld's catwalks featured icebergs, waterfalls, and supermarket checkout
lines. The cruise collections, which are an extension of the brand's ready-to-wear
lines, were shown in Grand Central Station in New York, Santa Monica Airport,
Venice's Lido, and Versailles' Grove of Three Fountains.
Lagerfeld was succeeded by Viriginie Viard, his closest collaborator and the lady
he referred to as "my right arm...and my left arm" after his death in 2019. Viard,
who is less outgoing than her predecessors, despises social media. Kristen
Stewart, a Chanel ambassador, describes her approach as "action against
speak."
That motion is rooted in the same graceful essence that has sustained Chanel for
almost a century, connecting a deep love and respect for high craftsmanship with
a spirit of freedom, nonchalance, and ease. "My approach to work has always
been fairly straightforward and realistic," Viard told Vogue last year, "but I feel
candour and a realness will be directing me going forward more than ever."

AN
AUTOBIOGRAPH

My home was the tummy of a new born bat when I was born in this wonderful planet.
That sailed the sky at night and slept in the morning. He was always on the lookout for
food, and he always said that nature was friendly. He also had a lovely heart, which
explains why he was Mother Nature's favourite brat.

Then one day, a Chinese man wanted to cook a meal, and the bat seemed the natural
choice, with the cooking part being hot and nasty. The bat died instantly, and they
declared aloud that the stew was "excellent."

We figured out a means to survive; at this time, there were two of us; somehow, I
managed to survive in the human nasal nostrils.

My brother and I were pals from the beginning, but after the humans shook hands, my
brother and I were estranged. However, we stayed in touch via airways communication.
Long-distance, or heart-to-heart, communication never fails.

It's wonderful to be alive, and I'm grateful for it every day. I now have ten brothers and
sisters who reside in different parts of the country.

There is a pandemic, according to reports. I'm very concerned about the future of
humanity. They would have experienced life in a variety of ways if they had lived as
bats.

It had to be mother nature's wrath, for they murdered her favourite bat, and she was in
excruciating pain for days.

My brothers are thriving, and we couldn't have hoped for anything more now that our
family name is being added to history, according to them.

Our species has overrun science labs, and the lost souls of other viruses are begging to
be found.

But if the world were a stage, by means of popularity we have won the race.
A little while longer and we would be patented as immortal beings of this day.

Vaccines are being made across the globe they say, the vaccines are for killing us, they
are adamant every human should take.

But we are a peaceful lot who simply live in airways. Some homes are more comfortable
and some throw us out like we are psychotic tenants of the new age.

Vaccines or no vaccines, we will survive because we are the "invisible enemy." In any
case, a few strands of bats make the soup taste better.
