WHAT WERE YOU DOING LAST CHRISTMAS?
Last Christmas I was visiting my family where we all met, grandparents, grandchildren, aunts,
cousins, etc. We celebrate Christmas eve together as a family, where we laugh and sing. We
spent the new year happy.

Christmas I was in Ibague with my family, there we were visiting my aunts house, where we prayed the
novena of Aguinaldo’s. Then we went out to the malls and parks where we saw beautiful decorations

beautiful decorations and Christmas lights, then we went to buy Christmas gifts for my relatives, after
that, we went to visit my brother and his wife at their home, there we were eating delicious traditional
dishes, such as custard, fritters, puff pastries, tamales, sancocho and lechona, then we were watching
some movies, then we were all listening to music and dancing, finally we were opening the gifts and
celebrating Christmas together, I really had a very nice experience last Christmas which we shared as
a family.as lights, then we went to buy Christmas gifts for my relatives, after that, we went to visit my
brother and his wife at their home, there we were eating delicious traditional dishes, such as custard,

 Typical dish of Ibagué

Chicken Sancocho

Sancocho de gallina is one of the most famous dishes of Ibagué and the department of Tolima in
general. It is a very tasty soup made with chicken, chicken broth, plantain, potato, yucca, arracacha,
corn, onion stew, garlic, tomato, parsley and cilantro. It is usually accompanied with rice to make it
more hearty. It is definitely a dish full of delicious flavors, perfect to warm you up and recharge your
batteries.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup chopped onions

1 red bell pepper finely chopped
4 garlic cloves minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
¼ teaspoon ground achiote
3 ears fresh corn cut into 3 pieces
12 cups of water or more if necesary
8 pieces of chicken
1 pound of pork meat or pork ribs
1 pound of beef cut into pieces
2 green plantains peeled and cut crosswise into 2 inch pieces
4 medium white potatoes peeled and cut in half
1 pound frozen or fresh yuca cut into big pieces
¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
¼ teaspoon ground pepper
 1 teaspoon salt

PREPARACION

Place the onions, pepper, garlic and cumin in the blender with ¼ cup of water.
In a large pot, place the beef, pork, chicken, corn, onion mixture, salt and green plantain. Add the
water and bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to medium and cook for about 45 minutes.
Add the potatoes and yuca. Continue cooking for 30 more minutes or until the vegetables are fork
tender. Stir in the cilantro.
Taste and adjust the seasoning. Serve in large soup bowls, dividing the meat and chicken and
vegetables evenly.

most traditional and typical dishes there. In some houses it is a tradition to gather the whole family for

profesional aporta a mi aprendizaje ya que el ingles hoy en día es fundamental para todo, incluso para
un trabajo laboral.

• ¿QUÉ APRENDÍ DE ESTA TAREA?

En esta tarea aprendí temas importantes de ingles como lo son el pasado continuo, el presente
continuo, los sustantivos contables e incontables, las oraciones en pasado siempre y presente simple.
