South African Coal Analysis Report
South African Coal Analysis Report
In accordance to the instructions received from client, we attended the vessel M.V. “MEGHNA FORTUNE”
on January 13 to 14, 2022 berthed at PIBT to perform round the clock sampling of coal cargo from the first
10,000 MT discharged material in accordance with ASTM standard. On which, we report our findings as
follows:
Sampling Exercise:
Manual sampling was performed by SGS, as per ASTM D2234 part stream cut, during the discharge of the
vessel.
Sub-lot wise separately sample increments were collected during discharge from head-chute at conveyor
belt duly preserved in double WPP bag with PE inner liner, duly labeled and sealed.
Sample Distribution:
Following are the details of prepared 02 sub-lots samples in Five (05) sets and their distributions:
One set of samples submitted in SGS lab for analyses on client advised set of parameters.
Two set of samples prepared for client and retained with SGS for the period of one (01) months from the date of
sampling (if not collected)
Two set of samples prepared for future reference and retained with SGS for the period of three (03) months from
the date of sampling.

Weather conditions:
Manual sampling was performed by SGS, as per ASTM D2234 part stream cut, during the discharge of the vessel. Increments were collected from a part stream of
material on a random time interval basis at an unknown / randomly estimated mass interval, with a fixed-increment mass.
Manual Sampling method was agreed to with the SGS Principal, as sampling by more reliable methods that provide probability samples was not possible or was not
selected by the SGS Principal. The Holder of this document is cautioned that collected MANUAL samples of this type do not satisfy the minimum requirements for
probability sampling, and as such cannot be used to draw statistical inferences such as precision, standard error, or bias. The suitability of this sampling method is
defined by the sampling standard.
Weather conditions are sourced from locally available data centers not controlled or operated by SGS.
