Basketball is a sport that has a high popularity all over the world. The game
was invented was James Naismith. The sport has unexpectedly become a part of
life of every person who intends to learn and play the sport. As we all know,
basketball is team sport played by two opposing teams of five players each. The
objective of the team is to shoot the ball into their basket to make points. It also
called as an offensive play. However, a team must also prevent the other team from
scoring. On the other hand, it is called as defensive play. In addition, each player on
the team has their own roles in the game. Namely: Point guard, shooting guard,
forward, power forward, and Center.

However, basketball also offers a positive impact on your physical and mental
health. But, the impact basketball gives you on your physical health is much more
important. First, is it strengthens your muscular endurance. Muscular endurance is
the ability in which muscles repeatedly apply force for an extended period of time.
Playing basketball requires agility, strength, and stamina. It is essential that you
quickly move and change directions using high-intensity, short-duration muscle
contractions. With this, it will have a helpful effect on your stamina, energy, and
performance. The next factor is: it improves the sense of balance and coordination
of movements of your body. Furthermore, basketball is fast paced game.
Sometimes, we observe that players playing the game move very fast. That is why it
is also important that someone develop his or her balance and coordination of the
body. Because during the game, somebody’s body has to be quick in performing
coordinated movements such as: jumping, to pivot, or change direction. In addition to
that, basketball involves the use of motor skills such as shooting, passing, and
dribbling. Lastly, a person can become skilled in rebounding and defensive moves.
In order to do the following, sustaining a strong body will give you an advantage and
execute all of these movements effortlessly.

To sum it up, basketball is an excellent way to get in shape and stay active.
you can play it at a moderate or vigorous intensity. Putting in some time on the
courts can help you gain more knowledge of playing the game. At the end of the day,
we are having fun playing the game, gain benefits from it, and have progress in the
long run.
