Two halves

By: Peyton Sewell

One half is like the day,

Bright, Warm, and Merry
No worries and no frowns,
Instead giggles, bear hugs, and real smiles,
The smiles you would see when a kid wakes up to find presents under the tree.
It's like a big bucket of candy,
One full of only candies of love
The puzzle that can always be solved,
Even when there is a broken piece

The other half is like the night,

Gloomy, frozen and lonely
As lonely as a bear with no honey
Or a cat with no mouse.
Worried mosquitoes afraid of the winter
No umbrella to protect you from the pouring rain
And as speechless as a deer in the headlights.
To afraid to build a house,
Because the big bad wolf will huff and puff and blow the house down

I am shy
Too afraid to speak,
And live my life as a kid
I am as quiet as a mouse
And upset when someone says “ speak up”
Because that is not all I am
Or who I want to be
Why can’t I just have a normal childhood,
Be the weird person I am and show a smile everyday,
Laugh if I make a mistake instead of turning into a tomato
If I could have any wish I would turn back the clock and change my life
