ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

Founded in 1860, today the Royal Institution of Naval Architects is an internationally renowned professional
institution whose members are involved at all levels in the design, construction, and maintenance of marine
vessels and structures. Members of the Institution are widely represented in industry, universities and
colleges, and maritime organisations world-wide.

The Royal Institution of Naval Architects enjoys an outstanding reputation for the quality and range of its
publications, including its technical journals, and conference proceedings, covering all aspects of the maritime
industry. The Institution also organises an extensive and successful programme of international conferences,
seminars and training courses covering a broad range of experience and opinion on research, development and
operation in all technical aspects of the maritime industry.

Those who are involved in the design, construction and maintenance of marine vessels and structures in a
technical capacity, and who are actively working to achieve the standard of professional competence required
for full membership of the Institution may apply to become Associate Members and enjoy the following
