QUESTION: How can you exemplify nationalism and patriotism amid
the ongoing covid-19 pandemic? When covid19 strikes the Philippines, we were sacred and worried for our own lives because this virus killed millions of lives around the world. But as the time goes by, we learn how to temporary stop the exploding number of people who got infected by this virus. Filipinos helping fellow Filipinos to survive and fight this unstoppable virus. We are now fighting as one nation to achieve its primary goal which is to defeat this virus. Now, are following the guidelines of the government which is the main concern is to protect us from virus and for me, its show nationalism and patriotism because as a Filipino we are helping each to recover and heal our selves and at the same time we are also fighting for the future of our country. During this pandemic there’s a lot of movements or groups that asking for donations for those who are suffering during the lockdown, some of them are just an ordinary person who wants to help our fellow country men. Even the police and medical personnel received a help comes from an ordinary citizen of these country, it doesn’t matter how big it is or small it is but the fact that we help has a big impact for them. For example, giving foods and water to the police while they are doing their job has a big impact for them, it makes them happy and motivated to perform their duty. That simple act shows one of so many acts of nationalism and patriotism during this pandemic, that helps everyone to surpass these challenges that we are facing today. But for me the most important value that we should learn is to have a strong faith to God because He knows the cure for this virus all we need to do is to pray and follows the guidelines and instructions from the government so we will defeat these invisible enemy.
