PLACEMENT: Level II, Second Semester S.Y. 2021 – 2022, GYNE Rotation
TIME ALLOTED: 30 minutes
TOPIC DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this topic is to educate the patients in the gynecology ward at Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital about the woman’s proper nutrition
during pregnancy and lactating period, as well as knowledge on the non-reproductive age women, and medication compliance. It is of the essence because during pregnancy a
mother is not only taking care of herself but also of the unborn child, hence one must acquire knowledge about proper nutrition, same goes with lactating women, a woman must
also have general understanding on the non-reproductive age of a woman, and ways to adhere to medication regimens. The approach would be a public health approach to provide
information to the patients in the gynecology ward.
CENTRAL OBJECTIVE: At the end of the 30 minutes discussion, the patients will be able to define the Measures in Improving Overall Health Status in Women’s Health,
explain ways on how to do tasks that can maintain their health and prevent illnesses or diseases.
