9 Drawing animals

We can use ovals and other simple shapes to
help us draw lots of different animals. Do you
like drawing? Try drawing these three animals.
Picture shows a zebra running through
the grass. Picture shows the shapes you
can use to draw the zebra. The body is made
of two ovals, and the head is an oval too. The
legs are made of lots of shapes joined together.
First draw all the shapes, then draw lines to
make the outline of the zebra. Next, rub out
the ovals and add detail to your picture. Draw
the zebra’s stripes carefully.
Picture shows a camel in the desert.
What shapes do you need to draw a camel?
They are mostly ovals. Look at picture
and copy the shapes. Then draw the outline,
and finally add detail to your picture. Use some
dark lines to show the darker parts of your
picture.
And now for the third picture. This time it’s
an animal from Australia – the kangaroo.
Picture shows the finished kangaroo, and
picture shows the shapes you need to
draw. There are some ovals, but there are some
different shapes too. Copy them carefully. Then
finish your picture. Don’t forget to draw the
baby kangaroo!
