a. Purpose

To verify that the difference in measurements between belt scales and truck scales is less than or equal to 0.5 percent.

b. Method

On a truck scale, the weight of coal being transported by a dump truck can be determined. After that, the coal will be unloaded from the dump truck directly into the conveyor hopper. Belt scale weighs the coal above the conveyor. Compare the coal weight measured on a
belt scale with that measured on a truck scale.
