In his poem "Sa Aking Kabata," Rizal highlights the necessity of learning one's native tongue. A nation's
affection for its original language, according to Rizal, is fundamental. It is inextricably linked to the
pursuit of liberty. The love of one's native tongue is a symbol of independence and uniqueness. People
should not consider their language to be inferior to that of others.
Was the poem considered as an expression of his nationalistic sentiments? Why or why not?
Yes, it is considered because he is attempting to teach us how to govern our lives since, according to
Rizal, a nation's passion for its own tongue is vital. The pursuit of liberty is intrinsically related to it. Love
for one's mother language is a sign of independence and individuality.

According to Rizal, how does education gives luster to the motherland?
He claims that education strengthens a country and helps it to climb above the competition in concerns of
honor and reputation. It also discusses how, from the moment a man is born, he is continually involved in
the pursuit of knowledge.

As a youth, what is expected of you according to the poem "To the Filipino youth"?
I shall use every gift that God has given me as a young man for the people and enemies of our beloved
nation. I will use my medical expertise in the same way that Jose Rizal did. He urged Filipino youngsters
to use their abilities, talents, and skills to shine not only for themselves but also for the acclaim and
prosperity of their country, the Philippines.

Does this mean that for anyone to have a true education, it is necessary that education be God-
centered? Defend your answer.
I believe that god-centered education is required because we all know that Christian education's goal is to
lead the process of human growth toward God's goal for man: holiness of character and deed. "That the
man of God may be complete, thoroughly supplied unto all good deeds," it strives to achieve.
