Job Description – Design Engineer

Location : Rotex Automation Ltd, Vadodara.

Job Title : Design Engineer
Reports To : Manager-Design

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Design Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering tasks in design, development,
prototyping, fabrication, product testing support, and value engineering relative to design,
development and production of new products. Additional scope includes performing engineering
analysis, design support for existing products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE OF WORK:

 Design Engineer will be responsible for developing design concepts, further creating designs in
Solid works and assemblies, drawings of various components, as per the input given by the
Manager.
 Under minimal guidance, develop design for improvements in cost and performance, and
complete the activities as per specified timeline.
 Establishes component dimensions and tolerances, appropriate materials and finishes, drawing
notes, and necessary substantiating calculations.
 Responsibility of developing prototypes, performance testing, benchmarking & releasing for
production.
 Should make designs & drawings accurately with good quality, not requiring many technical
corrections.
 Interface with cross functional teams for product development.

DESIRED PROFILE (AREA OF EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS):

1 Education: B.E. Mechanical

Automobile/Industrial Valves/Electro-pneumatic products - Design &
2 Domain :
manufacturing.
Min. 2 years hands on experience (latest) in Solid works 2016/17 - Solid
3 CAD Tools :
modeling, Surfacing, Assembly, Drafting.
4 CAE Tools : Experience of FEA (static/dynamic) using ANSYS would be added advantage.
Experience in product development - concept design to manufacturing of
Process prototype.

Knowledge : Plastic injection molding, Aluminium die casting, sheet metal forming, Turning.
Knowledge of ECRN process.
Industry Knowledge of relevant design standards & their application, for the products

Standards : handled. Exposure to GD&T, Stack-up analysis, DFMEA, DFM.
Self-motivated, assertive, demonstrates drive for results, Problem solving &

analytical skills, Effective communication, Team player.
