ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN
Novena to Our Lady, Queen of Peace
June 30- July 9, 2022

We will have a theme each day, based on the titles and events of Mary connected with the scripture readings.
Our goal is to hear a personal witness from different parishioners based on the daily themes. Anyone who has an
experience relating to the theme of a day, is asked to consider sharing this at Mass. Talks should be about 5-7 min.
We are happy to chat with anyone interested who would like more information.
Please call Catherine Barboza at 508-994-9714 in the church office to give your name and we will get in touch.
Thank you.
Themes for the Novena talks

June 30: Mary, Queen of all Creation …. How was Mary attuned to God’s presence in all things and people?
Have you had an experience of being attuned to God’s presence in people and the earth; of the need to have respect for all
that surrounds us?

July 1 The Annunciation A vocation story… Have you experienced being called by God, bringing about a change
in the direction of your life? Through prayer we can realize what the Lord is asking us to do in life.

July 2 The Visitation The visit of Mary and Elizabeth…this was a dangerous trip for a pregnant woman.
Mary went to her cousin Elizabeth anyway, to help her. Have you reached out to someone in need and made a difference
in their lives? You may have helped physically, emotionally, spiritually. Why did you help?

July 3 The Finding in the Temple Jesus, at the age of 12, goes to the temple to preach. Mary and Joseph felt the sting
of fear as to where Jesus could be. Have you lost a child or important person in your life? This could be a physical or
spiritual loss, temporary or permanent loss. If spiritual, were you able to help them back to God? Or are you still in the
process of praying to God for this person to find their way to Him?

July 4 Our Lady at Cana At the wedding feast of Cana, Mary asks Jesus to change water into wine.
Mary shows her faith and trust in Him by saying to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Have you experienced a
time when God didn’t answer your request immediately? Were you able to put your trust in Him and do whatever He
guided you to do? How were you obedient to His wishes for you?

July 5 Mother of Reconciliation …Mary is an ambassador, bringing us to her Son through repentance. Have you
realized joy and freedom after the sacrament of Reconciliation? Was there a time when receiving the sacrament gave you
peace of mind and heart, freeing you to hear and follow the Lord more closely?

July 6 Blessed Mother at the Foot of the Cross… Mary’s presence at her Son’s death showed her trust that He would
be raised by God; that His terrible suffering and death would bring spiritual benefit to believers. Have you helped
someone facing death to trust in God’s mercy and love and leading to eternal life?

July 7 Mary, Cause of our Joy …Mary found joy in different aspects of her life through faith. She proclaimed this in
her Magnificat, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!” Have you felt joy in
your life—the joy of loving and being loved by God?

July 8 Mary, Disciple of the Lord … Mary was among the first believers of Jesus’ message. As she guided others to
listen and believe, we too can do the same. Have you listened to God’s word, placing your faith in what He tells you?
Have you found God using you to help others with their faith?

July 9 Feast of Our Lady, Queen of Peace A priest will reflect on this topic.
