WORKING WITH
STYLES:-
In open office writer ,style refer to the set of text and page
formating attributes , such as fornt, fornt size, bold,
underline,and text color , page margin , size , and orientation.
with the help of style , you need not to go through different
commands sets , planesand dialog boxes to get the disired look
of the text. Style save a lot of time and effort to make the
text a document more attractive and eyes catcing. In open
office writer there five categories of styles, which are
discribed as follows:

:-Paragraph Styles.
:-Charater Styles.
:-Page Styles.
:-Frame Styles.
:-List Styles.
WORKING WITH

GRAPHIAL OBJECTS:-
In Openoffice writer , most of the document consists of text
only. However, sometimes you need to add graphical elements to
represent certain concepts in your document. The addition of
graphical element help in enhancing the appearance of the
document. Further , the graphical element also make the
document look more professional and expressive.

The openoffice writer application provides facility how to add


graphics in a document , Once you have added a graphic to your
document , you can modify it , whenever required. The following
are two basic types of graphics: images and drawing objects.
WORKING WITH
TEMPLATE:-
Every document in openoffice writer is based on a template. A
template is the basic model that provides the basic structure to
create a document easily and quickly. Templates offer sets of
different predefined visual elements that you can leader
customise according to your requirments. Open office writer
provides a wide range of templates with various layouts,
fonts,styles and colours.

When you start open office writer, a blank document is


automatically created and opened. This blank document is based
on the blank tempalte. The blank template offer you the
flexibility tocreate and edit document according to your
requirments and preferences.
WORKING WITH TABLE
OF CONTENTS:-

One of the easiest and the most common ways for referencing
the text of a document is to provide a table of contents to the
reader. As the name suggests, a T. O. C. displays the relevant
text or content ina tobular from in the order in which the text
or content appear in a document. A T. O. C. includes the name of
the headings and , optionally, the page number on which the
heading appears. As a T. O. C. is id eally placed at the beginning
of a document, it helps readders to quikly and comfort lessly
nevigating throug the entire document.

You can create at T. O. C. based on the hedding styles that you


have applied to the text of the document. The T. O. C. is
automatically and instantly created and added to the document,
depending on the heading styles.
WORKING WITH MAIL
MERGE:-

The mail merge feature of Openoffice writer allow you to


create letters, envolpe, and mailing labels for mass or bulk
mailing process sending information is very useful as it saves
both time effort spent in doing the same task several times.
Mail merge allow you to produce labels or envolps caring names
and addresses of different persons in one go. When you
produce a number of envelops , you need to take a list of
people's mailing addresses from the data source. The following
are three main components required for the mail merging

Data analysis is an integral function of openoffice calc
and to the process of collecting data from a sourece ,
summarising the data , and extracting useful information
from it. A data source openoffice calc provides special
features to perform data analysis. These are the data
consolidation, subtotal function, what-if scenario, the
goal seek and solver.

LINKING DATA AND
SPREADSHEET:-
Linking the process to get from external spreadsheet or sheet
into a cuurently open or active spreadsheet or sheet by using
cell references. The change in the source is spreadsheet or

Something, many person review a spreadsheet befiore it
is marked as final or submitted for printing. While
reviewing the spreadsheet, every reviewer can give
his/her suggestions in the form of comments or can
directly change the content. After reviewing the
document, final draft of spreadsheet is prepared,
incorporating all the suggestions and changes in it, if
there are any.

WORKING WITH
MARCOS IN A
SPREADSHEET:-
A marcos can definrd as a set of commands or actions
that are recrded and then executed in a spreadsheet
when required. Marco provides the facility to reuse the
recrded action in a spreadsheet several times when
required, there by making your work easier. By using
marcos, you can reduce the wastage of time in
performing repeated tasks.
